The Meinl Percussion Dual Snare Cajon is equipped with two fixed snare systems that add a crisp "sizzle" effect to your slap tones. The all-birch construction, common for studio acoustic drums, contributes to the attack of the slap tones. The birch construction is also what produces the resonant bass sound that gives you that "boom" tone when you play in the center of the face plate.
This cajon is easy to play and carry. It requires no musical training to begin. Just sit down and have fun. Of course, the light brown finish has the classic Cajon look. The bottom of the Cajon is equipped with no slip rubber feet.
This cajon features a resonant box and frontplate built from birch wood.

Comments about Meinl Birch Headliner Cajon:
The better quality cajons have longer, more sensitive snare wires on the back, which give more quality sound to the full face of the drum. The wires on this one are positioned lower, and are kind of taped into place. So hitting or slapping the top edge of the drum will sound more like you're hitting, well, a wooden box, than like a snare. If you play with the slap a little, and hit a little lower, the snare sound emerges better. This would be a good starter drum for the budget-conscious. Invest a little more $$ once you feel like it.
