A hand-hammered splash with a wide spectrum.

This Meinl Byzance extra dry splash cymbal produces an especially crisp sound that has a wide spectrum ranging from low to high frequencies. It is a very musical splash with an unusual appearance.

Extra Dry cymbals have big hammer marks which—in combination with the untreated, natural finish—enable an extremely dark sound with a short sustain. They exhibit dominant lows with an esoteric character.

This Meinl Byzance splash cymbal is completely hand-hammered into shape and satisfies the highest demands of its users. Every Byzance cymbal is a piece of art and has its own unique sound characteristics which can never be duplicated.

Comments about Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Splash Cymbal:

This splash is awesome! I've owned this for about 3 months and the more I use it the more I like it. It is an extra dry cymbal with an unlathed top, so volume is naturally somewhat low.. I have found though that it still works perfect for accents even in blasting heavy metal music, just don't expect it to be heard over a crash or china. The dry tone is incredibly rich and cuts softly, and it is probably the most unique cymbal in my set up. It does not at all have a regular "splash" sound, it is more of a quick, super trashy bite.. I would imagine this cymbal could have a place in any style of music, and it is a unique sound that can't be matched, so you may want to have another main splash before you get this. Also, the finish is incredibly cool and it seems durable enough, considering its a splash and not meant as a workhorse cymbal. This thing is sweet, get it, but I wouldn't use it in a live situation
