      An exceptional crash cymbal!

The extreme light weight and the extensive hammer patterns result in a dark, trashy sound with a wide spread and a long sustain.

Traditional, deep retro sound that brings back the days of handmade cymbal crafting.

Comments about Meinl Byzance Traditional Extra Thin Hammered Crash:

I play drums for my church and this is by far my favorite cymbal - and I play with several really nice cymbals (all Byzance series). Mike Johnston described this cymbal perfectly when he called it "thunder butter". It fills up the whole frequency range when hit but has an explosiveness and responsiveness that you can't imagine. Also, because of it's incredible responsiveness, it's really really smooth (hence the butter reference).

I recommend this cymbal to ANYONE as long as you don't play a lot of metal, as that's probably the only style of music this doesn't exactly fit into - since it doesn't produce a high pitched and focused attack.

        Very unique cymbal

Comments about Meinl Byzance Traditional Extra Thin Hammered Crash:

The cymbal sounds somewhere in between a China Type, Crash. It has a really trashy sound. Don't let the extra thin description make you think this is a soft cymbal, it is really loud even if you don't hit it hard. I am not sure how this integrates into my set-up but I just had to have it because it sound is so different than anything else out there.
