      OVERVIEW

Brings comfort and style to a whole new level.

The Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon has two special features: a patented ergonomic curved frontplate and a specially designed foot pedal that adjusts the snare wires during play.

Made from exotic African Bubinga wood, the cajon's ergonomically shaped frontplate has a slight curve (Ergo-Shape) that follows the natural contour of your hands for playing comfort. You'll find yourself playing longer thanks to the comfortable design.

A pedal attached to the bottom of the *cajon adjusts the amount of pressure used to press the snare wires against the front plate, changing the sound in real time as you play. The snare can also be turned off.

Like all Meinl cajons, the top corners are also adjustable for even more variety of sounds. Loosen it a louder slap sound or tighten it for a more subtle sound with less volume.

      FEATURES
      • Ergo-Shape bubinga curved frontplate
      • Rubber Wood resonating body
      • Foot Pedal control for internal adjustable snare wires
      • Adjustable top corners

Comments about Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon:

I bought this product to play with in my church's praise band. I use it mostly when there is not a big audience. It is very affective in giving a slight back beat and not producing a crazy amount of sound. I used to have a build your own cajon that didn't have much of a sound difference through out it. This is a big upgrade for me because there is a huge sound variation throughout the drum. The one set back though is there isn't much of a strong snare sound when I slap the edges of the cajon. I was disappointed when I found this out and I feel it is due to the snares clumping together, enabling the snares to be spread out throughout the drum. I also wish I could adjust how tightly the snares are pressed against the drum to get the perfect sound I wanted. Other than those two little cons, I feel this is a very well made cajon and the pedal helps to produce a lot of different contrasts in sound.

Comments about Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon:

This is a great sounding cajon when used with a microphone. I gig 6-8 times a month, and I've been using the ergo cajon exclusively. It has held up very well, and the dynamic range I can produce is incredible. I only play with the snares on however, because then the pedal will not stay in the off position without being held in place with your foot. The non-pedal version is significantly cheaper, and if I were to do it again, I would have probably bought it. Other than the pedal issue, I have no complaints with this cajon.

      Nice Versatile Cajon

      By Benji Goodrich

      from Littleton, CO

Comments about Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon:

Glad I upgraded. The features are nice and it's very comfortable to play.
The curved face is very comfortable to play on. I had a regular Meinl STring Cajon before which I liked but found my hands (on the underside of the knuckle) hurting after a while. Haven't had a problem with this at all. The ability to turn the snare strings off and on is very easy. You do have to keep your foot on the pedal to keep them all the way on though.
The bass sound isn't quite as strong as my previous String Cajon and the snare sound isn't quite as tight but overall the sound is good. Wood is beautiful. No squeaking problems. I've had it for a year and a half.
It is more expensive but the features are worth it.

      Pretty good drum

      By Stonewall86

      from Texas

Comments about Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon:

The plusses are that it has a great sound with the snares off and it is fairly comfortable to sit on for a while. Switching between snare and no snare in a hurry is nice. Minuses: the pedal will not stay in the "off" position by itself, the pedal has squeaked a since the day I bought it. Also the snares don't produce a very tight sound.

      Review

      By Abe366

      from California

Comments about Meinl Ergo-Shape Pedal Cajon:

Well I play all kinds of percusions, when I bought this cajon it sounded good, but after a while using it the foot pedal started to loose a little bit. Now sometimes when you are play the foot pedal becames a bit loose and you have to play with your foot on the pedal to keep the cajon from changing of sound. The quality of the wood is okay, but one day i left my cajon in the car, and since it was a summer day and very hot, the wood on the cajon kind of swelled. Another thing is that the wires in the cajon starts to make a noise when playing. This cajon may be a nice cajon, but if you are buying it you have to take care of it, or else this things will happen.
