Comments about Meinl Headliner Series Hand Hammered Brass Jingles Hi-Hat Tambourine:

I have been searching for a hi-hat mounted tambourine for a few months now. After trying out different brands I settled with this one. So far it has held up well (5 hours or so of use) during constant time keeping with the hi-hat. It isn't extremely loud, but that's what I like about it. The brass jingles do match my Sabian AAX/AA cymbals quite well. Its a very subtle addition to the constant chic-chic-chic of the hats. I'll edit my comments if anything breaks in the future.

Cliff notes: Great hi-hat tambourine for the price range!

Comments about Meinl Headliner Series Hand Hammered Brass Jingles Hi-Hat Tambourine:

When you need tambourine in a song and you don't have a percussionist in the band. " Here ya go".
I've used other types of these accessories before but 2 rows and brass jingles seems to be the best sound all around. It never sounds to cutting just very warm and into the music instead of sticking out too much. Works well with any set of hi hats I have and I have 6 of them. Try this it's a winner.

Comments about Meinl Headliner Series Hand Hammered Brass Jingles Hi-Hat Tambourine:

All in all, a good product with a nice sound - had hoped it would have a little more cut like a handheld tambourine, but maybe those were my excessive expectations. I will say this: if you have a mic on your hi hat, you should be fine. Otherwise you really have to be dramatic with your hi hat foot movement to get this thing making a good ching sound that'll be heard. Glad I went for the second row of jingles, otherwise I think you'd barely notice it at all. Moral of the story: if you're buying one of these, spring for the extra change and get this one instead of the single row. Holds well on the hi hat rod.

Not too loud.. Not too cutting. A nice sound to 'add to the mix' on occasion.

Comments about Meinl Headliner Series Hand Hammered Brass Jingles Hi-Hat Tambourine:

I was looking for a softer/duller sound than other tambos that I've heard. There are so many of these smaller ones that after a while just cause ear strain. This brass jingler is just right.

Being brass it has such a sweet sound, unlike my hand held with aluminum. I lock it down and get a nice accessory when opening and closing the Hi-hat, as I stick the hi-hat it adds a nice soft touch.
