The Meinl Mb10 China Cymbal has an explosive attack with a biting, crispy and trashy sound. Brash and penetrating, yet very musical in its spread.
For their Mb10 Series, Meinl set out to get a totally clean modern sound with no annoying overtones. They started out with a B10 bronze alloy that no one else uses, and shaped it meticulously with overlapped hammering and ultra-fine lathing. A two-step high-polish process is the finishing touch in creating the warm crisp sound of Mb10. The finished products are beautiful, with a mirror-like finish. The Mb10s are good for metal, punk, alternative, country, rock and pop.

I've been really nervous lately shopping for china cymbals, because if there's one thing I can't stand it's when a china has a very harsh and brittle sound. I wanted one that had a very smooth tone and fat body that you don't find in most chinas. But as picky as I am I took a shot at ordering the 17" having never heard it in person. I have an MB10 16" medium crash that i love, it has a perfect smooth tone, this china is no different. Inverted when you hit it at a slight angle along the edge it has a very smooth swell to it, and it also has a very biting punch when you hit it hard on the contoured section. And you don't need to hit it hard to get volume, it's a bit thin but it's LOUD so if you don't thrash it (which you should never have to try to get this thing to get loud) it should last forever. I put a moongel right on the outer edge of the bell to tame some of the sustain and it sounds simply perfect, pick one of these up, they add great flavor to ANY kit!
