I had bought this cymbal in an emergency. My previous crash cymbal had split from the bell (due to improper stand set-up...I learned my lesson) so I got into meinl cymbals and this was a cheap, quick option. At first it was loud, and not very tone-defined. As I used it, however, it began to gain that beautiful definition and quality that I was looking for. It just needed to be broken in. It is very shimmery, but that is mainly due to the nature of a B8 alloy. This is a great cheap option for anyone from a beginner to a Pre-professional active musician. I would recommend it even if you weren't in a crunch to buy a crash like I was.

This is a decent cymbal for the price. It's bright. Fairly loud if you smack it good. Definitely not bottom of the line. I'm hoping the tone will improve with age. It seems a little flat, and at the same time high to me. But cymbals certainly are personal opinion. If you want better, you're dropping a lot of cash.

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

This is a great crash!I Have the 16in and love it!The only bad thing is after a while, around the hole where it goes on the stand, it starts to tarnish. Other than that minor flaw, great cymbal. Very good for the price. Definately a must buy!!

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

If you have any doubts in your mind about buying this beautiful underated peice of art i am here to tell you to look no further for that perfect crash. It explodes when hit and has that perfect balance between bright and dark, it has a very wet sound when hit hard and i love it. I got this with the pack of hats ride and china and this is my favorite cymbal. Buy this cymbal

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

I know the sound is subjective but I like this sound so I bought two. I compared with other brands in the same price range and liked this one much better. I am a hard hitter and after 18 months, there is no dent or crack on mine. I stronglly recommend.

Fantastic 3 yrs. Running!

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

i got the MCS pack with my first real kit a few years ago, and i loved the crash from the start. the ride, once broken in, can work as a deep crash, with some tape. but THIS CYMBAL is top notch. after 3 years of hard-hitting abuse, it hasnt dented, cracked, or warped in the slightest bit. i would have to say that MCS is top of the line.

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

I got the MCS cymbal pack as pretty much my first full set of cymbals, not counting the trash can lid that came with my kit, and I was amazed at the crash. It sounds professional and is perfectly balanced with any music. I recommend the pack to anyone, beginner or professional.

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

I have always been a Sabian man and dreaded anything else, but I decided to try Meinl on a whim. Keep in mind I have Sabian AAX, a FEW HHX and several B8pro's and AA models. I got this cymbal because my AAX Studio cracked big time and was in a rush. Needless to say the reviews on this cymbal hit the nail on the head, this cymbal should be double the price just based off the sound that came from it and through the recordings. Very clean, clear and shimmering and it stacks up VERY well along side my AAX's. I highly recommend this cymbal for ANYONE who needs a great low cost cymbal. I am switching over my entire setup from Sabian to Meinl.

Comments about Meinl MCS Medium Crash Cymbal:

When i bought my Tama Drum Kit it came with a set of Meinl HCS cymbals. I was leary at first because i really didn't know alot about the Meinl company and thought i needed to go with Zildgin, Paiste, or Sabian cymbals but after hearing my Step sons Paiste cymbals and listening to my Meinl right next to them i couldnt hear any difference. This crash cymbal is by far my favorite cymbal to hit. Its crisp and has good sustain. I have increased my Meinl cymbal count to 8 now and i am sold on the quality the Meinl company puts out.

This is a good cymbal, and was great priced. At first, I was afraid it would let me down, but it did not. It sounded a little brighter than I expected, but I like bright sounds.
