this snare drum is awesome. i got the 14x6.5 gun metal sparkle. first of all, beautiful laquer finish. it has a lot of sparkle to it and its just amazing. the throw-off is great too. it stays up and holds tight. the sound is the best i've heard without spending a lot of time tuning. i spent maybe 15 minutes tuning and it was great from there. the UK Remo batter head is awesome; wish i could buy it somewhere. if you set it up right there is almost no excessive snare buzz. and it's sound is soooo deep. i played it in a big shed-like structure and it sounded even more powerful. i know it would be great on stage. BUY THIS SNARE WHILE IT IS STILL ON SALE!!!!

This really is a cheap drum that's not well-made. It looks nice, but the build is poor with an uneven snare bed and stripped threads in the hardware, plastic washers that are defective, crooked lugs etc. The heads are very low quality, especially the snare head. The throw-off's a nice design, though.Really, the sale price is about what this is worth, tops. With some work, you can make this an adequate drum, but its not pro quality.

Great Drum, Great Value...........

For the money this drum packs a great punch! Sounds good right out of the box. Only thing that I changed was upgrade the heads and snare wires. The maple shell is solid and so is the hardware. You won't regret purchasing this drum!!!!

OCDP road test

By Alan-ULIIQ

from PA

This 13 x 7 maple snare has great potential. I tested it against my Pork Pie acrylic of the same size. At a medium tuning the OCDP has a deep warm tone, which is great for hard rock. Tuned higher it has a sharp attack like a piccolo but with greater depth. Great value!

I got this snare about a week ago and it is amazing, if you crack it up tight you get a really nice crack sound. This is a really loud snare. I love this snare so much.

If you look at this snare drum, it's just a ddrum Dominion snare drum with different lugs. Same throw off, same hoops, same shell. Save your money......buy a ddrum snare

Great snare for the price

Simply put this snare sounds as good as it looks. I've been recording and the tone is just great and cuts right through. I put a Evans st dry on soon out of the box, but I agree that the Remo head didn't sound too bad. If your interested in this snare, buy it now-You'll be happy with it.

This is a must!!!!!!!!

By Drumkid

from Savannah, Ga

I just recently bought this drum to become my new primary snare after using a 12" prok pie for some time, and just in time for my gig as drummer for The Wiz. The drum sounded decent out the box. After tweakiing the heads and the snares, I got nothing but compliments from everybody in the pit and cast ... Especially my bass player. It has a dark piccolo crack with the body of a 14". Im about to change the heads though for some Evans heads. Other than that, this drum ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Good bang for your buck.

This snare is well worth the price. This drum has great projection and nice cosmetics. Very similar to DDrums dominion series snares, but better. I own both ddrums, Ash and Maple. This drum just has a bigger bite and cooler hardware.

OCDP Maple Snare

I got this snare as a birthday present from my band. This snare replaced my Ddrum ash dominion snare. I have to say, this snare is so loud, responsive, and has such good hardware. The throw is so smooth, quiet, and unlike my Ddrum snare, stays up. (my ddrum had to be duct taped shut) The die cast hoops look amazing, and the stock heads that come on are UK Remo heads, which are probably the best heads that could possibly come on a snare. I absolutely love this snare, and it sounds GREAT recorded on our EP

Adequate at Sale Price

By Bezmotivnik

from California

See all my reviews

The drum is cheap, Chinese-made and of indifferent quality, with an extremely lopsided and uneven snare bed, a cosmetically flawed finish, rough metal prep and sloppy assembly. At the sale price it's adequate and a decent drum after a LOT of remedial work, but don't be deceived by the inflated and deceptive MSRP. It's not a pro quality drum.
