I have played for 36 years and decided to get an inexpensive kit for fun. The cymbals that came with it were junk so I went for the Paiste 101s. I don't know why some people say these sound bad as I think they have a great jazz/latin sound. If you play hard rock go with the 14 inch hi hats but definitely consider the 101 series. These are every bit as good as top of the line cymbals were back in the 70s when I started playing and way cheaper!
these are great, I was on a budget and needed some new hi hats so I got these hoping for the best. I haven't really played many other cymbals, but I can say for sure these are great. Id recommend them to anyone.
I got a pair of Paiste 101 Hi-hats and they really sound great for practice and beginers. I've used and played many cymbal brands and references like Sabian B8, B8 Pro, Zildjian Scimitar, ZBT, A, K, Avedis, etc. So my advise for you is buy Paiste 101 cymbals for your kids, your home rehearsal and have fun without worrying for your high priced cymbals.
I got these mainly for the price. I got the 13" ones. They really sound good when closed, but when you play with them opened, they really sound terrible. And if you record, these really sound terrible, but other then that, these cymbals are good for the price and excellent for back ups. I love Paiste!
These are great cymbals good sound and good for the price..i use these for practice and zildjian for recording so you really can bang on these and not worry about anything cause there so cheapp GREAT CYMBALS FOR THE PRICE I WANT THEM ALLL......
I have to say, the 101 series are very nice and clean but higher pitched. If you like that, go for these. however I find them not to good when opening and sometimes annoying. Good for beginers.
this hi hat is good for some songs, and terrible for others. Its very washy almost like your smacking two metal trash cans up against each other, which I guess is good for heavy metal rock. But i'm more into alternative, i like more clear responses. They are good for the price, very strong and dont break. But i would recommend that if you have extra money, find something better. If not these are a great start out hi hat.
These hi-hats are pretty good for the price but i definitely wouldnt get them if you can afford something more expensive. It took some time to get used to the sound but after that they weren't bad I started to like the brass sound. If you're on a really tight budget then get these but you can spend more monery and get better hi-hats
