Nice way to add color to your set's tone. From the line developed in the early 70s specifically for amplified music.

The Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal sounds bright, brilliant, and warm. Narrow range, clean mix. Very responsive feel. Slightly shattering, explosive attack with warm, mellow bell-like fade. Features an exotic feeling, very dominant center tone with soft, swirling over- and undertones. In addition to use as accent cymbals, you could mount it upside down over a ride bell. A pair could also be used as very unusual mini hats.

    Introduction: 1971

Background: During the 1960's developing Beat and Rock music required cymbal sound to match the new frequencies and volume levels and in 1967 the Giant Beat series was created - The 2002 was developed in 1971 fusing the power of the Giant Beat with the differentiation of the Jazz series Formula 602 - In 2005, Paiste once again makes the 2002 a core series for the future, as the best and most innovative Dimensions models are incorporated into the newly expanded 2002, adding current trend cymbal sound to this venerable line

Innovation: First cymbal series fully developed for electronically amplified music
Alloy: CuSn8 Bronze, also known as "2002 Bronze"

    Quality: Professional

Production: Manual Craftsmanship - Hand Hammering, Hand Lathing

Applications: Medium to very loud settings - Live and Recording - Country, R&B, Rock, Jazz-Rock, Progressive, Metal, Grunge, and modern hybrids rooted in those styles

Users: Working Musicians, Enthusiasts - All players who need energy and drive and want their cymbals to cut through the music in all settings

Sound: Bright, warm, brilliant, musical, precise with high energy levels and powerful projection characteristics

Looks: A wide variety of surface textures with even, balanced hammering and lathing patterns - Prominent, 2nd generation 2002 red silk screening

Recognition: Used by countless top players worldwide over three decades to create a significant portion of our modern music heritage

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

I am not against any brand, paiste is just as good as any other. This certain cymbal though, just doesn't do it for me. It's too bright if anything...it's pingy. It doesn't fit my palette. Chevelle, Deftones, Tool, Mutemath, Justin Lantrip.
Try it at a music store...not online in my opinion.

        Again,Ive gotten all three sizes.Had to expire a 4"and 6" that I've had since early 80's.For the price,I bought two 4's,two 6's,and one more 8 as a spare.These will last me my lifetime.Great price.Works real good stacking on three 4" gibralter mini stackers,mounted over a larger cymbal.Like a `tree of sound'.Cool.

        Paiste 6

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

I just received my Paiste Accent 6" Accent Cymbal about a week ago. At first, I was a little disappointed by the sound but eventually it grew on me. I love the sound and I plan on ordering the 4" and 6" when I have enough money. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to hit because of its size, but that may just be due to where I placed it on my set. The finish is great and I love the way the logo looks (I like it better mounted right side up on an arm as opposed to upside down stacked on a larger cymbal). Thanks Paiste!

        Well worth the money

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

Just got the 6" and I can say that I love the sound and I love the price. It's a Paiste 2002 series cymbal so you know the quality will be excellent and it is. The sound is really great. It has a crystal clear bell type sound without sounding to much like a bell. It's a cross between a bell and a ding. I have mine mounted on a cymbal extender over my 16" crash and it's a perfect setup.

        GReat GReat Cymbal

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

I can safely say this cymbal was well worth the bucks I payed for it. The sound is great and as you go down in size the ping is higher which is why i got the 8 inch and honestly I do not regret anything. For the bucks you can get a 2002 bell on your set, great deal huh?

        Great Cymbal

        By Animal-rwi_D

        from Decatur, Illinois

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

This is a great cymbal for accents instead of a splash or the bell on your ride cymbal. I own the 6" cymbal and when I first got this and hit it I noticed it has a very nice bell or chime like sound, but I thought I wouldn't use it. I like the sound so much I use it with or instead of cymbals I used to use. If you like different sounds for your kit, for the price these are great plus they are small and easily placed.

Do Not Hesitate - Buy One Today

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

Although small, these are not splashes. These are long-sustaining and high pitched bells essentially. If you know the opening to the song YYZ, that is essentially the sound of this cymbal. The cymbal is very thick and appears to be unlathed. Despite the low price it has all of the high quality that comes with the 2002 line. I've found this cymbal to be a fine replacement for a splash in most cases, replacing the "splash" with a "ping", and it is now an essential component on my kit. The bandmates and audience get a kick out of the incredibly small size of the cymbal and most everyone finds the pingy bell timbre a fascinating sound coming from a drum set. It works well in combination with other bells or ice bells. With the incredibly low price of these cymbals you can't go wrong.

        A Classic Re-Born

        By GDB

Comments about Paiste 2002 Accent Cymbal:

I bought the original issue of these cymbals in 1972 (4", 6" and 8") and always have them mounted in strategic loacations around my kit. The sound is clean, bright and crisp. The finish still looks brand new and the cool red Paiste imprint hasn't faded after thirty-six years of use. Glad to see Paiste brought made them available again. Don't hesitate, just buy 'em if you want to add some unique color to your cymbal arsenal.
