Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
This product is a good deal if you dont want a very clean or very trashy china, if you want a china that pretty much does it all for a decent price, this is the cymbal for you. PS: I personally like this cymbal a lot because of how much i like this brand
This cymbal is pretty good, it doesn't have a specifically trashy sound but it has some, so it can sometimes be used for riding-works in blast beats and w/ double bass, but it also has a great explosiveness when used when accenting so it's pretty good all around.
This might be a litte bit affected because all of my other cymbals cost around 50$ apeice, but i've had it for a year and there is only a couple of finger marks and one small scratch that i stay away from hitting
Like i said before, this might be slightly biased because of my other cymbals' prices, but i think it was a good deal, i got it on sale and with the stand it cost about $225
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
I bought the 2002 20" Paiste in 1978 and what a great china cymbal! I passed it down to my son several years ago and it finally cracked,Darn it!!! Well, if this cymbal can take 32 years of hellish hardcore play, then we will definitely buy another!
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
Worst mistake of my life was giving this cymbal away! I bought a 20-inch 2002 China in the 90s. Played it and loved it. This was the only cymbal I kept when I sold my kit. Years later, thinking I'd never play again, I gave it to an aspiring drummer. Now here I am buying it again! Versatile cymbal. It can ride. It can crash. It can play soft and it can play loud. Beautiful piece of bronze. I miss it!
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
I have the 18" & 22" Black Label (old logo from the 1970's) 2002 China Type. A great sounding cymbal that is very dark & versatile. A more European take on the china cymbal, with fast decay, dry stick response & best of all it doesn't open up unless you really lay into it so it can be used in many different volume settings from soft to very loud. Playing on different areas of the cymbal produce very many sounds which can be used accents, riding, linear/melodic playing/fills. It is not thin & trashy like Wuhan or other "authentic" garbage can lid china cymbals. Both of my chinas are over 30 years old, & other than slight cosmetic wear, show no signs of cracks or keyholing. The 22" is my favorite cymbal in my setup. China cymbals are not for everyone but if you get one, it may as well be versatile enough to be used in many styles of music.
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
(Weight: 2.9 pounds) This is the perfect china cymbal imo. Produces a very oriental trashy tone that is smooth and fades away fast. The attack is really trashy and i find it darker and smoother than the sound file, and the decay is fast but with a nice voice, even darker than the attack. It produces different tones depending on how you play it, it is truly versatile, can be ridden, accentuated or crashed. The perfect china cymbal imo. A must try.
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
I used to play a Zildjian K 18" China but it was a bit too dark and trashy (great cymbal though) so i switched to this after buying other Paiste Cymbals. This China is amazing...beautifully bright yet trashy, durable as heck but it feels like an extension of your stick whenever you hit it properly. This china is amazing live (plenty of volume with out sounding like a trash can) yet was musical enough for the studio! If you have the money, GET THIS CYMBAL!
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
i've had this cymbal since 1980 and i still play it to this day it still sounds as good as the day i got it i play some what heavy so i use cymbal springs which is the reason i think all of my cymbals still sound good and havent cracked yet get this cymbal it is worth the money
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
I own 2 of these! One from the late 70's-early 80's, and one from 2000. Both are 18in chinas. These can be used in almost every musical aplication. They sound trashy, but in a good way. I use mine for accents, and I ride it too! It sounds beautiful! My older one sounds a little darker than my newer one, but that's just the nature of cymbals. Spend the extra money and get one!
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
I have the 1980's version of this cymbal and it is just amazing. The cymbal has a very unique sound that can fit in with just about every style.I would recommend, but I would go to a store because not all cymbals are manufactured the same. Go to the store and hit one to see if it would work with your current cymbals
Comments about Paiste 2002 China Cymbal:
i bought this china about a month 1/2 ago and its been awsome! its loud, trashy, and has about a medium short sustain. it also doesnt really show finger prints or stick marks. it is also a very good cymbal for rock/heavy metal. overall its a great cymbal.
