I would have to say for the money these are great cymbals. I use to own ZBT's and i would have to say that the the 201's are by far better than the ZBT's. I also own the 10" splash, the 18" crash and the 18" crash/rde. I'm a heavy hitter and they put up with everything i throw at them. I am also going to say that the sound clips on Paiste web site are very accurate. Great cymbals. Good product.
I must admit, these cymbals are quite the step up from any stock cymbal set. The 20 in ride is probably the sweetest part of this package. The body has a very bright full ringin' sound that rides better than any ride at this price range. The bell as well is extremely bright, so this ride isn't exactly the best metal or hard rock ride, but nonetheless it is very sweet. The Hats are as well very bright and high pitched for their size. Even though their sound isn't what I dream for, it beats low end sabian or ZBT hats. My only complaint is the 16 in crash. It's too bright, decay is very long, and doesn't choke well at all. Even with flaws, the money this is the best thing under the pst 5's or high end zildjians. I also credit the Paiste webpage sample audio for these cymbals to be dead on accurate. So go there and see what you think.
I will only play paiste cymbals, but I will never buy anymore 201's or entry level cymbals again, I bought this pack to swap out all the rest of my cymbals to paiste, the ride is exelent, the hi-hats are okay, the crash SUCKS I have had it for a year it is broke three places on the bell, and has many dents and two huge cracks, again I would recomend paiste, just not these.
These cymbals are amazing. U get a great tone out of them. The volume thats listed dosnt give the cymbals credit. The cymbals r much louder than it says. These r great cymbals.
I got this pack to replace the cymbals that came with my drums and I love them. They are great quality for the price. The only thing is that the hi hats are slightly darker than I would like. I still think that if these are in your price range, you should buy them.
I bought these to replace the stock cymbals that I had before and I think I made the right decision...need I say more?
These are a lot better than the Sabian B8's or entry level Zildjian's. I've owned these for close to two years now and they've held up great, no cracks/dings and they still sound good.
I have had these for a couple of months now and I can say this is the best set for a beginner. Every cymbal has a nice sound, and it has stood up to my hard hitting, great deal.
