The 18" Alpha Rock China cymbal has a bright, clear, full, aggressive sound. Medium-range, fairly clear mix. Very loud and explosive with a hissing shatter. Very strong China cymbal for all musical applications in louder playing styles.

I own a lot of chinas- big ones, little ones, trashy ones, bright ones, dark ones, the list goes on. This one falls on the far end of my sound spectrum. It's super bright, metallic, and loud, with a hint of trashiness at certain volumes. It's great for accents, but not so good for riding. Not a wide dynamic range at all- you have to really dig into it to bring out the best sound. It's a good value and something pretty unique, as is most of Pasite's Alpha line. Lastly, it looks cool with a neat hammering pattern, and is available brilliant or traditional.

I got this china and its very musical. Its medium heavy like a rock crash, so I hope it will last a long time. I had two wuhan's before and I broke them both, each in six weeks. So far the paiste has out lasted both and it sounds ten times better.

Unlike most china cymbals that have an undefined pitch with a scrambled frequency that gives it that trashy sound, this cymbal is good and trashy, but has a very distinct tone like it is playing a distorted note. I have never heard a tone like this on any other cymbal (I have played or heard most of the available chinas on this site). A must buy if you are looking for this kind of sound.
