      OVERVIEW

A very dynamic, universal splash cymbal for multipurpose application in most styles.

This Paiste Alpha Thin Splash features a brilliant finish with a bright, silvery, short, and full character. It has a very responsive feel with a fast attack followed by a quickly fading and sizzling decay.

Alpha cymbals were first launched by Paiste in 1992. Today, the Alpha brand is synonymous with dependability, and the cymbals are well known for their first-class sound and fair prices. The Alpha Series is now available in a Brilliant Finish, once again advancing these trusted qualities.

The new brilliant look is accomplished by skilled craftsmen who hand polish the cymbals to a mirror perfect finish in the final production stage. Prior to that, top-notch hi-tech processes give Alpha cymbals their initial shape and strength. They are further enhanced by traditional hand-hammering.

Alpha cymbals have become very popular among professional artists, especially in rock and metal. Working with such drummers, Paiste developed new models to expand the arsenal available for players in these genres.

Alpha cymbals have developed a strong following in recent years and are today endorsed by numerous working drummers all over the world, such as Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch, Jason Sutter with Chris Cornell, Dave Witte of Municipal Waste, Tommy Portimo of Sonata Arctica, and Steven Spence of Black Tide.

I use this splash as a hand cymbal in my conga setup. For that application it is great. I have mine padded tight with no wash, which really compliments the thin sound. Perfect for my needs.

Comments about Paiste Alpha Thin Splash, Brilliant:

This sounds really strange and pretty darn bad on its own as a splash. It's more like a really high pitched crash. I use splashes for really quick accents; I don't want to have it ring out and cover up the rest of what I'm doing, which this does. However, I put one of those celtic cross crasher things on it and it sounds INCREDIBLE. It is now my favorite cymbal. Sounds almost like a Max Stax.
