In a word, this cymbal sounds angelic. When played with the style of music for which it's intended, (i.e. NOT Slipknot) your band mates will smile.
If you're a rock player, this cymbal is probably not for you unless you play some really quiet passages. But if you play jazz -- especially acoustic -- and want a cymbal that literally sounds like crystal, with stick definition to die for, this is your baby. If there's any "downside" at all to this cymbal it's simply volume; it's just not that loud. So, just mic it if you need to. I'm 53 years old and have been playing drums since I was 16 -- my first cymbal was a beautiful 22" K Zildjian and I now own dozens of "pies" from all kinds of makes and manufacturers. For sheer pleasing tone when struck with a fresh, wood-tipped stick, nothing, IMHO, beats the "new" Paiste Flat Ride. It makes me smile every time I play it.
Beautifully made. Not a flaw anywhere.
I'm only giving this a 9 instead of a 10 because it's the most I've ever paid for a cymbal, ever, and lots of drummers just can't afford it. Buy the best and cry once, though.
