These are great for the jammer that wants a crisp hat sound and has a budget. These hats have a sizzle that stands out nicely in unison with snare, bass, and guitar. Buy them, they rock.

I have played these hats for about a week, and I've given that a thorough inspection. They are bright, clean, present in the mix. Keep in mind these are what you might call "budget" cymbals. ZBT's are priced a little higher than these guys. You'd pay more for half a hi hat than you would for these hats, but anyone looking for hats in this range that will not get drowned out and still sound musical, give these a try. I did.

First off I rated features 5 because, they are simple hi-hat cymbals. I played drums since I was 10, but put them down and sold all my stuff about 5 years ago. Recently I have gotten back into it (I could kick myself for selling my old gear) and am slowing rebuilding (and with 2 kids I am now on a budget). I have always love Paiste cymbals and (I used to play on 2002 and Rudes)so I looked to them for my starting cymbal pack. After some research I settled on the PST5 Rock set (16" Crash, 18" Ride and 14" Hi-Hats). I have been playing on them for several weeks now, and while the crash and ride are acceptable, I hi-hats continue to suprise me it how good they sound. They have a crisp sound, but in a medium ring. I recently upgraded my hi-hats stand to a Gibraltar w/ liquid drive, and holy cow! It brought these hats to life! I am totally amazed at how darn good they sound. If you are on a budget, I think you will be very happy with what you get for the money.

The PST-5 rock hats sound killer, especially for the money. They are loud with a nice, sharp chick. The stick noise articulates beautifully, and, of course, the CuSn8 alloy makes them look beautiful as well as sound beautiful. Much tighter and heavier sound than the PST-3 hats. I had to wait over 2 months for mine, but they're WORTH IT!!!!
