Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

I used this ride for the first time at an outdoor venue. The music was loud ,which is great because it's metal. The bell of the ride was like an ice pick, cutting through guitar volume with ease. The 'ringing' some don't like wasn't even noticed. If you play metal, and need a cutting ride for a STEAL, pick this cymbal up !

        love it

        By benjamin davies

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

cheapest bronze ride i could find and it sounds great
the bell and body of this sound better than some of the more expensive lines i've listened to
at first i thought is had too much ringing sustain - so i put some small strip gaff tape on the underside which worked ok,for body hits but somehow this muddied the bell pitch
now i use no tape on it and the 22" really sings on our quiet gentle sections
and for the rest of the set it cuts through 2x guitars bass and keys no problem
its also got good tone and clarity for fast patterns
if you play heavy music and don't need elite priced gear and just want quality, value and good tone i would recommend the 22" rock ride
good solid ding from the bell and musical body hits. sounds good with wood or tips, but tips work best. the edge hit is huge and gongy
        bullet proof
could be the best value out there?

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

I needed a new cymbal after I destroyed my 20" Zildjian ZBT and this cymbal blows that one away. Better value and better sound. The sustain was a little too long for my liking but I just slapped some ducttape on it. The bell is sick. Great cymbal for drummers of all skill levels and playing styles.

        Best Cymbal 4 Recording

        By Caveperson

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

I have the 22" and this is the best budget cymbal for recording and sounds great for the price! I like it better than my 22" Zildjian A Custom Ride IT'S THAT GOOD! The ping of this baby is perfect for metal and expressive progressive rock/jazz and funk. It's fairly washy, but moongel is the best solution, in my opinion, but I just let it ring. I even crash the thing, sometimes to get my point across. IF YOU WANT THE BEST VALUE AND SOUND FOR THE PRICE, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET! May I also mention, they blend well with other cymbal brands as well. My set up consists of a Sabian Xs20 20" Med Ride (as a crash) 14" Wuhan Traditional Hihats PST5 Rock/Zil A Custom 22" Ping Ride and I swap out a 19" PST5 Rock crash/20" 502 Ride as a crash. Happy hunting for your perfect sound!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

I've had the 20" for over a year and I use the ride a good excessive amount with my playing. I even crash on it more than my left crash. The bell is also nasty clear and tingy. Only problem is that it rings for a good while, but a couple strips of duct tape underneath will fix that problem.

        Paiste PST5 Rock Ride

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

I have the 22" Rock Ride. In a word, this ride is loud! The bell will put a hole in yer momma's head, but the bow has a nice shimmery wash...which literally rings for days. Some may find it a bit tough to control, but for the experienced drummer, it's no problem. Don't duct tape the bottom (I abhor duct tape on anything), let 'er sing. This is high quality, intermediate-level cymbal, and the best in it's price range. Try it, buy it, and fall in love!

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

! have the Paiste PST 5 22" Rock Ride. Let me tell you this cymbal is sweet. I think it's well worth the money. The ride itself is extremely loud, but the bell is killer loud. It's so loud it will pierce your ears when you hit it. This cymbal cuts through mixes really well. As you probably already know it is very washy but the washy ring gets drowned out by everything else, so that's not a big problem. I would highly recommend this cymbal to anyone who likes to play an overall rock genre.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Rock Ride:

it is a very good cymbal it is my first ride cymbal. The only problem is that it rings a lot so i put Duck tape on the bottom to stop the ringing it worked. i like it 'cause you can use it for light song heavy songs. i play with my church, and i play to UnderOath at home. Over all worth the money.
