The definitive Power Ride has more "metal" in the ping and less wash than the Ride/Crash. An absolutely piercing bell, this cymbal will cut through anything.

A pure deep ride with clean stick sound and a beautiful bell. DO NOT- I repeat: DO NOT crash this cymbal. If you crash this ride it will ring for years! I know it's a penny thick, literally, but it will wash away every audible noise in existence. That being said, with proper technique and good control this ride keeps the beat and then some. Beautiful hammering. Bravo Paiste

I own this 20" power ride I was suprised that this cymbal had two unmatched sounds when I used it. It has a very loud middle sounding bell sound when hit hard. However it has a rather low sounding unmatched ride sound not suitible for being called an actual Power ride...I've used Paiste ride cymbals in the past and this cymbal is a huge disoppointment for it's actual ride sound. I wish I could find the Paiste cymbal Rock ride I used years ago: I had a 20" Rock ride with a Green color Paiste lettering, produced 20 years ago that had the best true Ride sound that I had ever played. I still remember all the commplements from the sound it had, unsurpased to todays sound. I purchased this Rude cymbal to complete my set of Rude cymbals. I was not impressed at all with this cymbal unmatched sound considering how well all the other Rude cymbals sound that I currently own. This cymbal is only good for it's loud bell sound.

Not for everyone

By Woe,is me

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

Great solid cymbal.Pingy dark, pure metal sound.Paistes' flagship metal cymbal. If you are a hardcore drummer like me and need something crashy, this is not the cymbal for you!If you crash it its just a messy dark loud mess.If thats you check the crash/ride version. If you need a pure sound for death metal look no further.Check out Impending Doom,I saw their concert and this is the ride he uses.

Perfect for Metal

By Med Hed Drummer

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

I own the 20" and I love it. The bell on this thing is amazing, the sustain is great. Its just a piercing cymbal. I've had mine for two years now and am not looking at replacing it any time soon.

paiste rude

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

I've been drumming for a few years new and was looking for a ride upgrade. And this it it!This is one of the best cymbals I've played, I've played a zildjain a coustom ping ride andpaistie signature. This is the best for the price. But I only gave it a 4.5 in features because the bell is hard to hit dead on.

Madd Power...

By Madd Power

from Lebanon, NH

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

When I ordered this cymbal I was looking for something that would give me the power that my K custom dry ride didn't give me in the driving hard beats my band often preforms. This cymbal has much more power then I expected the bell is peircing and really has a nice effect and kick... the middle is a bit washy but the tone is just right for what i was looking for and when the edge is being crashed the full power comes out which is almost mind blowing! If your looking to drive your band hard and play Live i would highly recommend this cymbal!

Cuts through the triple rectifiers

By JAYsilence

from Winnipeg, CANADA

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

Nice ping sound that cuts right through those bastardly Mesa triple rectifier stacks. Your playing won't get lost, and the definition is incredible. The bell is crazy, super loud and penetrating. The dinstintive RUDE attitude comes though in the wash of this cymbal. It's incredible how Paiste can make a cymbal sound raw like this, but still beautiful at the same time. If you like the pingy ride sound, and want to ACTUALLY HEAR what you're playing, than this is what you want to buy. As soon as you play a top-of-the-line Paiste cymbal, you'll never go back to that horrid Zildjian/Sabian garbage...

Ride Cymbal

By Brett-kKcTd

from Holstein, IA

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

I'm a ride cymbal kind of guy. This baby really puts out a ping. The bell is great. It really does "pierce" and it's big enough that the cymbal washer doesn't get in your way. Rudes are ugly, but they sound great. This cymbal is made for punk, rock, and metal. I'm not sure any other genres call for this ride cymbal. This product is amazing.

Great, but go with a Ride/Crash instead

By Hap

from Meridian, ID

Comments about Paiste Rude Power Ride:

I have been using Rudes since they first came on the market. In the early days they didn't have the Power Ride, they had the Ride/Crash as the Ride of the line. They came out with the Power Ride to fill the needs of the 80's Metal Glam band era. Very pingy. Problem is, they are not crashable at all, just heavy ping. Most rock/punk bands of today require a ride that can be ridden hard and crashed when needed. The Ride/Crash is perfect for this. Check it out on Paiste's web site and listen for yourself before you buy. Power Rides are a one trick pony, thats why lots of them find their way to ebay.
