These hi-hats absolutely explode. They are just as loud as the rest of the cymbals in the Rude series, and just as amazing. The sound-edge allows for more of a sizzle when played open. Do not worry about them not being able to be played closed. They do so marvellously. I have fallen in love. Rudes are ugly, but amazing.

Very high-pitched and cutting hats with a loud "chick" sound. These hats seriously cut through the mix at even unhealthy volumes and I have performed many a gig without the need to mike the hats. Conversely, these hats are also responsive to dynamics so that the lighter, ghost-stroke type notes are clear and defined as well yet with a tasty softness. Again, these carry a lot of high-end frequencies whereas the 2002 variety tends to occupy more of the midrange, so these hats will cut right through the most distorted and nasty guitars you can find. Get them now!

Wow my friend plays brutal death metal n beats the krap outa his cymbals...almost all of them he had to replace but this one. These hi hats look brand new and he's had them for 2 years. They never loose their powerful look and sound. It's well worth the investment if you want sturdy and reliable hi-hats that will go wherever you want. Go get these!!!
