Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

Wow. I am a long-time Paiste user and enthusiast. For about the last 15 years I have been using a 22-inch Signature Full Ride, which has a pretty open, washy character. I was looking for a different flavor ? something with more stick definition?so I ordered a 21-inch Dry Heavy Ride without even trying it out, figuring that Paiste wouldn?t let me down. Upon testing out the cymbal without the band, my first impression was that it might be too dry, especially given my years-long accustomedness to the spread of the Full Ride. I feared that this ride might be to ?dead? (think Zildjian Z Series ride) But after less than five minutes of playing the cymbal with my fairly loud powerpop band, I realized that this cymbal is simply amazing. The stick definition is incredible at any volume. It has a beautiful (but nasty) ping with dark glassy overtones. This sucker will lend authority to your quarter- eighth- and sixteenth-note ride patterns. If you are looking for a strong, defined, semi-dark ping, this is your ride.

Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

When I started looking around for a new ride, I was using a Sabian 22" Metal ride. I like the pingy sound with strong bell and no wash. I know, Boring. I checked the Paiste 20" Power Ride and the 20" in Dry Heavy. I chose this one and could not be happier. I tried the Power Ride for a week and went back and bought this one. I've had other drummers ask what kind it is and these are long time "Z" users. They were floored and said it was the best they had erver heard. Just Buy It!!!

Best Ride Ever

By Drumstick-QKyg_

Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

I have had a Paiste Signature 21" Dry Heavy Ride for more than a decade and it has held up exceptionally well to regular playing, some of that time included playing every weekend for years at a stretch so it has gotten some use. It is by far the most musical cymbal I own, and it is my favorite. It has the most pleasing overtones, and it is very dynamic. When you play out near the egde, you get a really nice tingly wash but the real appeal of this cymbal to me was the sweet bell tone. No matter where you hit this thing it just sings. It sounds great live and can cut right through the loudest stage volume, or it can be a subtle as a feather in an acoustic setting and still sound crisp and full.It is well worth whatever they are asking for it. And naturally, the 21" is a little darker and deeper than the 20", I have the 21" because I dig the dark cymbals (also in my collection are a couple of Zildjian 18" dark thin crashes that compliment the 21" nicely).

Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

I purchased this ride a few months ago and I can't be happier with it! It's incredibly versitile. I love being able to tap out some jazz and then tear it up with some hard rock, all on the same cymbal. The bell is awesome, nice and fat when hit with the side of a stick, but bright and pingy enough when hit with the tip. Smack the edge of this cymbal and it will give a really nice dry drone, awesome dynamic range. AWESOME cymbal BUY one...OR TWO ^_^

Amazing Ride

By Bonzo2002

from New Providence, NJ

Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

I've always been looking for this sound on a ride. It's just the right pitch, bright, but not too bright. It isn't very wet, it IS a dry cymbal but the sound doesn't sound choked. The bell is also nice, it is distinct and high pitched, dry.

I love this ride. Paiste makes the best cymbals and this one is one of my favorites. Sounds great and cuts through the music without being overpowering. You can really hear the intricacies of the ride Pricey but worth it. You really get what you pay for.

Comments about Paiste Signature Dry Heavy Ride Cymbal:

I like the bright, high pitched metallic sound. Sort of a heavy feel and controllable, with a bright pronounced pong over dark dark complex wash. It's a strong cutting ride
