A fusion of darkness, energy, projection, and brilliance.

This extremely versatile, flexible ride is ideal for wide ranging application in modern blended music styles. Pronounced, crisp stick sound, with bell character that's integrated, dark, and full.
Lively, yet extremely controllable intensity with medium sustain. Mark IIs tend to be a bit livelier and brighter. This manifests itself in the overall sound character and in particular in the bell and ping sound. Mark II also has a bit more volume potential due to its more open character.

    absolutley superb!

Comments about Paiste Signature Series Dark Energy MKII Ride Cymbal:

I have the the 21" MKII and this cymbal is it like it has EQd built into it..when playing this dream theres a depth to it that i haven't heard on any other ride ive played. at first i didn't think it quite lived up to the hype but the 1st time I jammed with it and the band it was a like a Nova exploding with the purest shimmering sounds Ive heard in a ride.beautiful ping and you can shoulder it and it never gets out of control or sounds out of place. easy to play and no matter what you do it sounds superb! the bell is great, the wash is shimmering, you can crash it and its beautiful. If your in a loud amplified setting like rock this may not be the best choice unless your mic'd.looking at the price on the DE rides it makes one shudder but they are worth every penny once you play one. what would you pay for thee perfect ride? I wanted the 22" and I still want to do a side by side but got such a smokin deal on the 21" I couldn't pass it up and I'm extremely happy with it. just when you think Paiste couldn't do any better they pull this one out of the hat!all i can say is WOW!!

    supreme enjoyment

Comments about Paiste Signature Series Dark Energy MKII Ride Cymbal:

The dark, shimmering tone is stunning! I find myself sneaking away as often as possible into my practice room just to play it and ignore the rest of my kit. There is a symphony of tone in every stroke. You can play one stroke anywhere on the cymbal and it sounds amazing, unlike most rides I've played where there are some dead spots that aren't musical or even usable. I can find a purpose for every spot from the bell all the way to the bow. It goes from a clear, pingy attack and higher overtones toward the bell to a full tone with good articulation and an energetic amount of spread in the middle to a washy, trashy tone with a lot of rumbling low overtones toward the edge. Lay into the edge with the shoulder and it gets a high-energy rush of complex sound, not too bright and not to dark. It's near perfection for me. The perfect ride sound I've always had in my head, but never existed until now.
