Everything clamps down fine, but then they are brand new.
I think they're fine for smaller cymbals, splashes, small crashes. A big ride or crash might make them a big unsteady. Keep them low for added stability.
Once again, they are a light duty stand, so don't expect a world tour out of them. Fine for practice kits that don't go very far.

Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
This atands were the worst purchase i made this year. They are so, so so thin that they moved every time i hite a cymbal. I was expeting better, and i will suggest to include thickness comparison in the description. i don't see a way this stand can support an 16" cymbal or bigger. I just could used them for my splashes and i bought thinking to be heavy duty and to support my 22" ride and a 18" crash.
Don't waist money on this item
Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
I don't have any complaints yet.
I needed an extra boom stand for my Ludwig set, so I bought the PDP 700 Boom stand. These stands were way better than i expected. I have a 16in. crash/ride on this stand right now and its working great. For the amount I paid for these stands I couldn't be happier.
Better than expected.
awesome stand for the price
Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
I didn't expect much for the price, but these boom stands are actually pretty good. I think they were designed and intended for smaller, lightweight cymbals because they almost want to tip over when I make my cymbals scream! However, I braced them up using other components of my set, so ultimately they are doing ok.
Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
Not real happy with these. I would not put anything bigger then a 10" cymbal on them.
Single pivot stand. No frills.
Very flimsy. I have some single braced stands that are 40 years old that are sturdier.
They may be worth half of what I paid in my opinion.

Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
I have owned 3 of these stands as well as other products from PDP. The stands worked very well when I first got them, and they performed well for about 3 months. During these 3 months my band played about 16 gigs and I took my kit to all of them using these stands the whole time. Then while setting up for one show one of the stands legs would not tighten, the bolt was completely stripped. when I pulled it out of the stand the thread from the inside of the leg came out too, this means I could not simply use another screw to tighten it with. This went on to happen to all three of my stands and my pdp snare stand. I will continue to buy PDP drums but not their hardware, they need some serious quality checks.
Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
I have a whole house full of toys like this but nothing built any better. The boom feature is awesome and the tilt feature lets you tip the cymbal at the correct angle.
These stands are the real deal.
If you want something really sturdy, don't look anyplace else. These stands will hold up under the pressure of rock and roll.
I couldn't believe how strong these stands are made for the money. Compared to local prices they would cost three times the money locally. I talked with the technician at Musicians Friend and he recommended them.
Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
I got these cymbal stands about a year to two years ago. For about a few months after getting them they were holding up well. But after that the top half part of the cymbal stands they did not hold my cymabl. I would tighten it up and it would just losen, and drop my cymbal. The base od the boom stand is good. But the other half. Not good! I would not recommend these stands for anyone. Not even if your saving money. Look for quality, not quantity. Overal, not good. ):

Comments about PDP 700 Series Boom Cymbal Stand 2-Pack:
Okay, so I read the reviews that said that they were only straight stands and couldn't figure out why they show a picture of boom stands, and even in the title call them boom stands yet sell straight stands. When they got to by house I noticed right away that they are in fact boom stands. The boom "rod", if you will, is just inside the stand. So, it can act as a straight stand. You just have to loosen the stand and pull it up. They are not the most heavy duty stands, but I like them a lot. And, two for $70.00. GREAT DEAL!
