Comments about PDP 700 Series Cymbal Boom Stand - 2 Pack:

Don't know where to start with the bad news. I have a Sabian B8 20" heavy ride and a Sabian APX 24" medium ride. I kinda figured that there'd be a problem with the weight of the 24" but thought a twin pack would still be ok and use the other one as a backup. Well, the 24" wanted to tip over right away, no surprise there. But NEVER, I repeat NEVER in my wildest dreams did I ever expect the 20" to be a problem. Unless you set the cymbal out exactly over one of the legs it also wanted to tip over. Extension arm just 1/2" off center of leg and you didn't know if the 20" was gonna stay or would it go. I'm not a hard drummer at all, will only play in church or church band anymore so I'm not beating like a wild man and even the 20" was unstable. Calling MF in the morning and they're going back. Never sent anything back to them before and most of my equipement is from there but this product is junk. The worst part is that I didn't even have the trunk up to full height and the extension arm was just barely 1/2 way out.

Comments about PDP 700 Series Cymbal Boom Stand - 2 Pack:

I bought these for extra cymbal stands which they serve the purpose. The build quality is quite flimsy, and they are a little unstable. I have a pair of SP cymbal stands that are a lot beefier, and actually very stable.

I would buy SP cymbal stands for cheap/extra stands, or spend more for better quality.

Comments about PDP 700 Series Cymbal Boom Stand - 2 Pack:

For the price, I wasn't expecting the greatest stands in the world, but I was hoping for something a little more sturdy than this. The diameter of the tubing is small, probably less than an inch, but I can't say for sure since neither Musician's Friend or PDP have this information published. The small diameter results in a stand that doesn't inspire much confidence when fully extended.

These stands are convertible from straight to boom, however they should only be used as straight stands. When fully extended in the boom configuration, they felt wobbly. You should definitely weigh down the legs if you choose to support a ride on one of these, however the single braced legs might not hold the stress of extra weight.

I wanted to send these back in order to try the 800 series, but return shipping was too expensive. If Musician's Friend was willing to pay the returning shipping, I would happily pay the extra money for a better set of stands.

These stands are great bang for the buck! I would give them five stars but they are not a top-of-the-line product obviously. Super happy with the fast free shipping too. Awesome!

Comments about PDP 700 Series Cymbal Boom Stand - 2 Pack:

These stands are EXCELLENT for the price. I have had no problems with my thick 22" Meinl Raker or my 20" Sabian APX Solid Crash. I hit cymbals heavy to soft and the stands take all the abuse and finess equally. I guess technique is at the root of ALL cymbal strikes. These stands have all the adjustment I need. The wall thickness/tubes seem thin but hold up to every crash and ping. Thanks a million for the fantastic price and quality!

I have just started drumming I wanted something different from guitar call it an mid life change up. I purchased a shell pack and got an eye opener when it came to the price of cymbals. Purchased the high hat from my local dealer to get started when I saw this pkg on line great price. Very sturdy for a beginner put a 20"ride on it sets up nicely and does not move at all. Probably not for an aggressive pro but perfect for a newby to intermediate player

This set of stands is EXCELLENT for their price!! They are a tad flimsy, but ya' know, thats why they made adjustable legs! I can actually hold an 18" crash cymbal AND a 13" tom mounted to it! But honestly, i wouldn't recommend it for cymbals over 21". But thats the only problem. I recently played a gig in heavy winds and they held their ground like champs! i definitely recommend these stands to someone who needs multiple stands for a relatively cheap price!!

Comments about PDP 700 Series Cymbal Boom Stand - 2 Pack:

I bought these stands to hold some inexpensive used cymbals for a house kit that we use at practice. You can't beat the price. With the low cost comes some losses. Teeth adjustments on the tilt and angle so not unlimited. Only two sections, most stands have three. Tubes are much thinner then normal. They don't fall over don't get me wrong but if I had a cymbal that was expensive I wouldn't trust them. If I was picky about exactly where my cymbals had to be, I would spend more. If I liked to place my cymbals high I'd get something else. I don't have these issues, so I am good. What's the old saying, "good from far, but far from good."
