I bought two of these clamps for a low tom and 8" tom for my home kit. It holds great to the stand and no rattling either. But after awhile, I noticed the ball join starts to drop and doesnt hold my 8" at proper height. Great product if you dont plan on removing your toms a lot.
I've been playing Pearl Drums for years and I recently purchased a PDP Maple kit. This little clamp is so easy to use compared to the Pearl hardware. It was a breeze to set up. I use it on my 12x14 tom and have had absolutely no rattling problems as a previous reviewer had posted.
This bad boy came with my cx kit and i've never written a review before but this thing is solid. It works perfect and holds my heavy low tom like it's nothing i will be getting another one for my new kit because nothing compares to this bang for my buck.
I got this clamp a few months ago. I hooked it up to my cymbal stand and started playing, but as soon as I hit it, the cymbal started rattling. I've tried everything since then to stop it from rattling, but nothing has worked. If it rattles for you when you get it, I would recommend returning it right away because it's almost impossible to make it stop. Buy a snare stand instead to put your tom on.
Great product for adding on toms or those little extra percussion pieces. When used with Pacific toms the memory locks make tearing down and setting back up a snap.
I recently purchased a Pacific Mapel set that came with one of these for the low tom. Its awesome! Besides being able to put the tom wherever you want, you can even turn them completely upside down for tunning with no problem. I think they make your set much more expensive, they just give you alot of movement and placement for your extra toms. My only complaint is the ball joint, its awesome, but its plastic and I noticed mine getting a little scratched and getting little dents.
I have used this tom holder for about 6 months and neither has it wanted to break or fall off. I use it to hold my 14 inch tom and I love it.
