I was rather dissapointed with this stand. Not very sturdy at all. It was a lot smaller than i thought i would be. The tubes aren't very thick. I keep it rather short with an 18in crash on it, and it tends to fall over... a lot. I don't hit very hard either. So you get what you pay for.  It would probably work better with a smaller cymbal, and maybe some small weights on the legs.

I was looking for a good, sturdy, stand that I didnt have to pay $75 for. Well, this seemed to fit the bill. I have other PDP stands but this is not like them. When I opened the box, I was shocked to see how small it was. The diameter of the stand is small and the height isnt all that. Its like a beginner stand you see for those Toys r Us kits. It will work for now but i will eventually sideline this thing and get something beefier.

I wasn't paying attention when I ordered it and for some reason thought it was a 800 series, which I have also and it is MUCH more sturdy. It is holding a cymbal and I am playing it but will probably donate it to the kid I sold my old kit to.

The quality for this stand isn't horrible, but it was a lot less durable than I imagined it to be.

It does its job.

Overall I think that you should probably replace the stand after you save enough money for one that is more durable. This stand is however good for beginners. A problem I had with the stand was that whenever I play gigs, if the legs don't get spread out enough, it will shake back and fourth on you.

I picked up a couple of these after looking at the pictures and description.  I was very surprised when they showed up.  MUCH lighter weight than I had imagined.  The light-weight part I like, especially when you throw a few of these in the old hardware bag.  However, I am very skeptical about how long these will hold up or whethere they can simply hold anything.  I just don't see these holding any large or heavy cymbals securely.  I'm not some thrasher but I don't know if I can trust these at a jazz gig either - cymbals are not cheap and you don't want a stand that fails or tips.  I can easily flex these in about any direction because the metal tubes and the legs are so thin (just a small step above "toy").  I would qualify these as a "student" level stand if anything.  Only time will tell but my gut tells me I should have just sprung for the Yamaha stands I usually buy instead of trying to save a couple bucks.
