This is a great pedal! It's a good feeling and smooth and quiet pedal. Everything you expect. It feels good and is easy to play. Two things that I really like: 1. The clamp that attaches this pedal to the bass drum hoop is very easy to use. It is a drumkey operated bolt, and it is "offset", on the right side of the pedal near the spring. This is usually only found on more expensive pedals, and it sure beats having to get your entire hand under the footboard to clamp it down! 2. The spring tension adjustment has a very wide range. I like a pretty loose tension, and I've found on other "lower" priced pedals, the loosest tension was still too tight for me. Not this one! The tension range is so wide, anyone should find a comfortable spot!

The only issue was that the plastic drum key holder broke apart the first time I tried to take the drum key out of it. It probably should've been made out of rubber, or at least a more pliable plastic. Probably a design afterthought. Not really worth returning the whole thing for. The rest of the pedal seems sturdy enough, though.

I have had this pedal for just about a year. I works just a well as my friends DW 9000, It's cheaper and there is no serious need for another pedal. All of my hardware/peadals are PDP. I love them to death, you won't be dissapointed.

I received this pedal with my Ludwig Drum Set Purchase and the Pacific Hardware. When i adjusted it to the proper spring tension, it was a good as any single pedal. It wasnt to stiff or smooth. It actually suprised me. Hey, if your on a tight budget and been playing a year or less, this the pedal i HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting.
Comments about PDP SP400 Single Pedal:
this is a pretty good pedal but the screws come loose and it takes a toll on your drum heads. I have had it for about a year now and it had went through 2 drum heads. other than that it is a great pedal.

I have used this pedal since it's debut and I've never used another one since. It's still as sturdy and smooth as the day I got it. The only complaint I do have is the beater. It's a good sturdy beater, but I prefer round beaters. This is a great affordable pedal. Be wise and pick one up today.
Comments about PDP SP400 Single Pedal:
I got this pedal with a Pacific set I recently got. It sounds great and seems pretty sturdy, but I just got the thing recently as of writing this. Its very smooth and easy to do fast beats with. Its no DW5000 but its a great pedal. My only complaint is that to tighten it to the bass drum, you need to use the drum key, no turnkey. Im sure you could put something on there, but it comes with a lug to adjust and tighten it on.

This pedal came with my drumset and I must say I'm pretty Impress I thought it was gonna be a pretty cheap pedal but is worth it, it moves around unless you have a carpet under it...and maybe the beater is a little way back but is a pretty good pedal specially for begginers.

I don't own this pedal because I use my iron cobras but this pedal is very good. Has a great feel and is easy to pull off strong doubles.
Comments about PDP SP400 Single Pedal:
I own this pedal, and have for two years. i actually got the 402 double bass version because i thought double bass was cool, but i have realized i don't need it because i'm not in a hardcore band. i love using it as a single. I get really good doubles out of it. When I bought it, it didn't have a plate at the bottom and it was only a single chain, but i guess they've upgraded the pedals since then. I'm actually selling mine though because I am getting a DW 9000. This is a great pedal.
Comments about PDP SP400 Single Pedal:
I've owned this pedal for less than a year, and it's all ready starting to fall apart. The screw keeps coming loose, and the mallet keeps falling off. I suggest you find a better buy, unless you plan to only be able to use this for a certain amount of months and then upgrade. I suggest you do not buy it, and look for something better.
