It's a good product but i was surprised to discover that it has no drum pedal,high hat stand and no cymbals at all.

Musicians Friend customer service was horrible. They will tell you an item is in stock, take and process the order and a few days later you may find out the item was never in stock. May be an isolated case but for me, this was unacceptable and made the entire shopping experience stressful. Regarding the kit, this is a well priced item. Packing was superb, but the mounting system is only OK. I've seen/used/owned several different kits through the years. Yamaha has THE BEST mounting hardward. The PDP "T-rod" style mounting system is not as flexible as the Yamaha system, in terms of adjusting your toms. Recommended kit, but buy is ELSEWHERE.

If your looking for a good bigger kit that doesnt hurt your wallet to bad.. check these drums out!
First: These drums sound absolutely beautiful when tuned right. The projection and the tone for these drums really sing. they have a warm/bright sound to them which can be great for most musical situations(EX:Latin,pop,rock,jazz, & fusion)
Second: the finish is dope.
Third: The price for these drums is reasonable. Your going to need new heads for these to really get the full potential but that goes with out saying.
There's nothing cheap about these drums, right of the back you can see that the drums were built not only to jus look cute but to take a beating.

Like i said before the lacquer finish on this set looks GREAT and the hardware is top of the line. You will not have a problem tuning these drums if you know what your doing and will be blown away at the sound. The only bad thing i could even say about this set is the stock heads but lets be real there are no drums that come with top of the line heads. All in all for the price of this drum set you will not find better quality so buy them.
First I would like to say that the finish on this set is beautiful. The hardware looks great and is durable. The stock heads are ok but you will want to change them soon. The "Fast" size drums are my favorite part... Tuning them up takes no time and they sound GREAT with a lot of punch and depth. BUY IT
For the price of these drums it feels like your playing a set that costs at least TRIPPLE the price of this set BUY IT
You get your moneys worth plus some out of this drum set BUY IT

(Before I begin, I should say that the bulk of my drumming has been on a very solid, punchy birch kit) I bought this kit as a secondary, to use in my band's practice space. Problem is, I think I like it more than my Pearl birch kit (a BLX Recording Custom from the early 90's)! Very warm sound and fairly easy to tune. The attack and sustain are quite different than birch -- lots of mid to high range, not quite as much attack or low notes. What's also really great is that the kit (8, 10, 12, 14, 16) has a solid internal tonal range, so none of the toms sticks out -- they all sonically blend. The bass drum is a bit dry, but it has excellent volume. I have Remo clear ambassador heads on them right now, but i suspect you could get even more musicality if you went with thinner heads. I have also recorded with them and they are expressive and fairly contained, and they respond to Hot Rods and lighter sticks quite well. Last, mine has a sparkle wrap, so a laquer treatment would probably let the shells resonate even more.
For the money, this is really a great kit, particularly in relation to much more expensive maple kits.
