Looks like a sturdy drum set. Good sound except cymbals which is standard with a drum set in this price range. Cant wait to see my sons face on christmas morning. I also want to say the the customer service gearheads were all extremely helpful.

Comments about PDP Z5 Complete Drum Set with Hardware & Cymbals:

I have played in cover bands for 20 years. I always have a hard time keeping a drummer. So I decided to take that into my own hands with with Cakewalk software, my iPhone, and a drum set of my own. I wanted something to basically lay down tracks. I had my former drummer come over and we were completely surprised with the product. Stock heads are a little flat but very serviceable. With a nice set of REMO heads, this would be an excellent set. Truly impressed.

Comments about PDP Z5 Complete Drum Set with Hardware & Cymbals:

I am not a drummer at all. My 9 year old son has been asking for a set of drums for 2 years and has promised it won't sit and collect dust. I have played bass or sang or both in rock bands throughout my life(nothing serious)and decided to start learning guitar at 40 and buying all the cool loud shiny rock n' roll guitar things has got him wanting to play drums.
So after a couple years of him asking, his mom finally gave in. After looking at sets from between S600-S800 with some including cymbals and some not I thought just go cheap in case he flakes out. The shells with the heads and hardware all came Friday so I put the toms and bass drum together while the snare was assembled...had to wait for the rest of my order to come on Monday before we ad it all. Really nice solid set and he fits behind them. Will get better heads when they go b/c they're cheap & add cymbals if he sticks with it. Nice Metal Grey finish is cool but not too flashy. Also got baffles-needed...might put pillow in bass drum. Pedals are not fancy but are solid aluminum and should last for awhile if I keep up tightening bolts. That's not to say I have had issues yet...all the bolts and mounting are really solid. I have only had it complete for a day but know enough to know that for the money as a starter kit for anyone. Put better quality heads on it and add a couple nice cymbals and you're rockin'!
