I bought this hardware pack a month or 2 ago and found it to be stylish/good looking and was rather functional. But, the big point is, this is not really "full size" hardware (some of it). You may guess that by the price, but don't worry if you don't need much more than occasional gigging and lightweight practice gear. If you are starting out, definately consider this pack! The hi-hat stand (especially the base) was smaller than my stock one on my kit, but the attatchment rod is acceptably long. The straight cymbal stand does it's job well, just not for a constant metal music assault if that's you. The snare stand is that new off-set tilter style which works well with any setup but this one wobbles too easy. The bass pedal is fine (especially with the quick and easy new style beater head) but i have a double kick setup already so i don't use it much. The felts and joints are decent, and it is a good hardware pack for a smaller drum set or drummer. You may want to just put your hundred bucks toward buying nicer separate hi-hat stands and cymbal stands - which i am now. Hope this helps.

I ignored most of the reviews out there because I was strapped for cash. However, if you can hold out a little longer and save for better hardware do that. Really the only thing that is salvageable is the snare stand. The hi hat stand is very unresponsive, and the spring just isnt strong enough. The bass pedal is also very hard to play with. I am not the best drummer, however I am not bad either, and I found it very hard to get the doubles like I can on other bass pedals. The cymbal stand is actually holding a floor tom mounted to it, however its very wobbly with that much weight, but with just a ride/crash on it that your no thrashing on it would be fine. All in all save your dollars and buy hardware from a pawn shop or online piece by piece. Dont buy packs.

I am a long time multi-instrumentalist that just switched over to drums at age 35. I may not no a lot about drums yet, but I know a thing or two about instruments and quality. This hardware set was impressive right out of the box. The metal seems heavy and solid, and it was all easy to assemble. I play mostly jazz with a light hand but it seems like it could hold up to rock drumming. I've only had this set for a month so I don't know how it will hold up against the test of time yet but it looks promising.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

First off, I know little about drums. I sing and play guitar professionally. I bought this hardware set as a replacement for a 1974 pearl kit that I gave my 7 year old son for Christmas. The old hardware was just plain worn out and looked terrible. I was hesistant to replace vintage parts with new "cheaper" hardware in fear it would look cheap. I must say, I couldn't be happier. The only minor thing I would do over is get a higher quality kick pedal. I still havn't replaced that but between my son and I playing every day on it it's all held up very well. I'd recomend this to any "hobby" musician or for a practice drum set. If you're a serious musician that plans to use this professionally then you will want something higher quality.
As far as quality goes, this a decent hardware kit. It's deffinately not top quality but for the price it's a great starter setup or replacement set for older kits you don't want to dump hundreds of dollars into.
The value is the best part. At this price it's a great buy. It does the job and is sturdy enough to withstand normal use.

          Preety good but.....

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

I got this with my PDP Z5 drum kit. (Which I totally recomend) This hardware pack is pretty good but there are some minor flaws. 1 is the response for the hi hat stand is poor. However, it's weird because sometimes it has great response. But then when I get on it the next day it wont come back up. This is the main reason of the 4.0. Kick pedal is stunning. I can go super fast with it. Snare stand is great. To close it you just twist the black screw like thing, and it goes up and closes the snare basket. So this is obviously a great stand! cymbal stand is pretty good. The tubs are very skinny, or skinnier than I thought, but it still holds up fine with my 16in metal crash. I would recomend this to anbody looking for an inexpensive hardware pack, or for starters. PDP nailed another great product!

I bought this set as a temporary set for a new drumset I was putting together. It is fine for that, but I will be replacing it soon. The hi-hat has poor response and a weak spring; that is the main complaint as far as functionality. Other than that, everything is just real flimsy. I will say that it is fine for the price, but if you can go better you should

this came with my pdp z5 drum set, and it is altogether really good! the pedal is terrific! i love it alot! the straight cymbal stand is durable enough to play hard rock with a crash cymbal. the snare stand twists and turns at time and there isnt a spot to tighten it, but it work completely fine, the hi-hat stand- its allright, it almost makes u have your hats completely tight unless u want to keep tightening the screw, it keeps coming loose, but overall this is a good hardware pack, if your short on moolah, get this

Im a really good professional drummer, and am very experienced. I bought the pdp z5 drum set that was a 5 piece shell pack and this hardware pack and it was fanterrific! the hihat stand has a nice, sof t yet strong response, and a nice brushed steel pedal. the snare stand, when the tripod is out enough, is sturdy. my god, the bass drum pedal is really good. The straight cymbal is a little wobbly, but usually when you have the thinner pipe up more, it does that.however it is surprisingly light. GET THIS!

I bought this hardware pack to go with my Tama Superstar shell pack.Overall this pack is great. The hi-hat stand is fantastic; no problems there. The cymbal stand could be sturdier, the tubing is relatively thin, but it works. I have a cymbal and timbales mounted on it and it stays up.I traded the bass pedal with a friend so I have no comments on it.The snare stand is ok, nice adjustments, but mine seems to lean a little to the side. It's not a huge problem, but definitely an annoyance. If you're looking for a basic hardware pack for very cheap, this is it.
