Looks good. I've seen other friends of mine who have had these for years. That's how
I was able to test it out, you know, "try it before you buy it". I knew I wanted one of these.
At the moment I was using a 2-sided beater, I honestly don't know the manufacturer.
For the most part I use the plastic side more than the felt side. Definitely the plastic side
100% of the time in recording because I wanted that attack transient, the "WHACK" when
the beater strikes the head. The felt side doesn't have quite as sharp of a sound, but, it is
a little more precise than I thought.
Felt side sometimes in live performance. Anyway, the point I'm making is that I used the plastic
side on my other one so much it got flattened out a little and distorted in shape. Friends of mine
and fellow drummers have the Pearl beater so I had to get me one.
It's well made. The Pearl company has a good name. Time will tell. My other beater got
beat up over time. Just the face of it. I've had various different beaters over the years and
some of them the felt part was glued in, and of course failed, and fell out, and I had to re-glue it.
This APPEARS it will hold up. But as with alot of things, it takes time to tell.
Good price.

I tried these out to see how they differ from the 4 sided. Weight wise they are lighter with an easier feel but, the felt does not last very long at all. I play maybe 3 times a month and the felt pushes down and has no bounce after 3 months of use. If you like felt beaters like myself then go with either the 4 sided Pearl beater or use another brand felt beater.

Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
You want to talk about a beater. I was in a depression, cause they had discontinued the puresound Speedball Beater. So I went into deep research on what beaters to look for. What I looked for in a beater was aa lightweight and durable beater, basically like the speedball. If you have a light weight beater with a fast pedal, your possibilities are endless. The attack with this bad boy is killer! Although I would recommend the plastic side. Can't go wrong with the plastic! Go out and get this beater right now.
Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
I have had this beater for just a few weeks, but I really like it. It was what I expected it to be so far... The felt side being a softer more mellow sound, and the plastic being a more aggressive punch. It's just a little lighter then my standard felt beater I replaced. Also, for the money it's a deal for sure.

Good beaters. Just the right size. Not to big or small. I just wish they were cheaper. Besides that though I would recommend to anyone who wants that perfect size beater.

Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
I recently started drumming for my church (the middle school, because I'm 13) and this beater is on that kit. This is my favorite beater of all time. It's not the only kit I've used it on. My cousins' pearl forum kit has this beater too, and I absolutely love it. I love the sound it produces. It's just a good, solid, punchy, deep, firm, kick sound, with a smooth, even, perfect feel. It's also one of the least expensive beaters! I highly, highly, highly recommend it.
Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
I have used this beater on my 2nd cousins' old Pearl Forum drum set. Everything on that kit was Pearl, except the drumheads (Evans g1s). This beater was on a nice, smooth, fast, strap-drive, Pearl single pedal, and I set the plastic side facing the head. It has a nice feel, a balanced, perfect weight, a good punchy sound (even the felt side), versatility, and durability, all at a good price. I highly recommend this beater.
Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
This is a great beater. I really like the felt, delivers a soft, quiet sound. I haven't any problems with it. But I much prefer the beaters that come with the pdp dp402 double pedal.
Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
This has a nice sound to it, and is relatively sturdy. I like how the plastic sounds especially. HOWEVER, this beater will not fit in a sound percussion pedal, the hole in the SP pedal is too small.
Comments about Pearl B100DB Duo Bass Drum Beater; 2 sides - Felt or Plastic:
These beaters came with my Pearl double bass pedal, and although I love these beaters to death, they WILL wear through your bass drum skin. I've only had the beaters for 5 months and already from constant double bass I've gone through 2 Evans bass drum patches and have near holes in my bass drum. Not to mention that the felt will wear out FAST if you're constantly doing double bass. Still, I love the weight and feel of these beaters!
