Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:
The Icon Curved rack has save me many hours of set up time in the past year. I have played on numerous rack systems before, but the Icon by far takes the win.
The square design of the icon rack makes it so the clamps do not slip like on other round racks.
I personally use the PCX100 and 200 clamps.
I have never had a clamp fall off, never had a leg brake, and never had the bar move up or down on me. The memory locks work extremely well.
The only con for this rack is since the legs are chrome so they scratch easily, however in some sweet stage lighting the audience will never know!
For people wondering if a rack is worth the money...It is. It save time and effort because you longer need all the bottoms of the cymbal stands and everything locks into to exactly where you had it last!
Best purchase i have made for my kit besides the Pearl drums themselves.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:
Right out of the box easy to set up. Everything is there to put in up in 10-15 minutes tops. Add a few pcx 200s and you should be good to go for almost any kit. Pearl makes such nice hardware its all I use.

I've used this rack a few different times at school and it's come through every time. The clasps on it can hold about anything without worry that it's gonna fall. At one point, we had a brake drum, a pic snare, hi-hats, 3 toms, a wind gong, 3 suspended cymbals, a saw blade, ice bell, wind chimes, a china cymbal, and ribbon crushers. The next year we had 4 rack toms, a floor tom, crash cymbals, 2 suspended cymbals, a bell tree, 2 triangles, 3 mallet/stick trays, a tambourine, an ice bell, a cowbell, a ratchet, and a flexatone. It fit two people comfortably, or, when played by one person, had a 32" marching bass drum lying in the middle. Nothing has ever failed on it and it only ever took 10-15 minutes to assemble and put every thing on it.

Love this rack assembly. Just got it yesterday 8/19/10. User friendly, easy to set up and loved the options for arranging...Only two things negative..The wings were way to long for my set up, so I just cut about 10" off on either side which was very easy to do even if you only have a minimal amount of mechanical ability. I am also purchasing two of the Pearl tilting clamps, I did buy two of the regular clamps that match the 4 you get with the rack but the tilting clamps I believe will work better for mounting the drums, at least two of them anyway...You will not be disappointed with this rack, it is well worth the money.

I've used this rack system with 2 different drum kits (Pearl & Tama) for over a year. It's been a great buy for a number of reasons. First, it's an amazing time saver when it comes to setting up & tearing down; remove the drums & cymbal booms, take it apart & it's ready to travel. Get to the gig, put it back together, hang the drums & cymbals & it's good to go. Second, you can hang a LOT on it: Mine's supporting 8",10",12",13",& 14" toms, 8 cymbals, a remote hi-hat and a Roland SPD-S (I have room for more if needed). I recommend extra PCX-100s & PCL-100s right out of the gate if you're racking a larger kit. The square tube design helps it all stay put. It adapted easily to the new tom-mounting system when I switched kits & it's decreased the footprint of my kit by removing stands which is great when playing smaller venues. Lastly, people LOVE the look and it's always nice to be complimented on your gear. To folks that say "no one plays racks anymore," I say "With a system like this, why WOULDN'T you?" I'm glad I bought it & I suspect you will be too.

You cant beat this rack. I bought a drum set and it only came with shells. I spent hours trying to figure out how to mount every drum individually. I knew then that I needed a rack. I bought it a few months later and have never gone back. It is extremely sturdy. Dont have to worry bout a thing.

After a long time of researching and talking to local drumshops and drummers in Phoenix, AZ I went out and finally bought a curved rack and I most say that I absoulutely love this rack. I love the square tubing design compared to the standard tubing other hadware companies make. I have a huge kit and after putting everything on it I was blown away how it came out. Best invest ever for any drummer looking to get rid of those stands and switching to this great rack. I took off the cymbal arms from their stands and any stand you have this rack will accomidate you in everyway, and your imangination is put to the test to see how creative you can get on putting everything you own onto this rack. Absolutely amazing
Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:
I am a huge fan of the square/curved bars. They WILL NOT SPIN on you due to this feature. Unlike many other cylindrical bars on other racks. The only problem is that the legs are cylindrical, so the width of the back legs can slide. But, that's minor and pretty much unavoidable (how else can you mount the bars?) To those who say it's not capable of "double bass", just buy 2 Pearl L-Racks and stick them together (I've seen it before).
Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:
I have played drums for over 20 years, and have always had kits 7 pieces or more. Generally always single bass with d.pedals. Have been there, and done that, with the stand thing. The more you have, the harder it gets. Even the sturdiest of stands, have to be set just right to avoid tipping. The Pearl Icon (curved) solves it all. Am using an 11 piece kit now, single bass, and alot of toms, and cymbals. As soon as I got the 3 pieces set in place, I could tell it was a winner. Very solid, sturdy, leaves nothing undone. With my larger kit, the only change, was to switch out the standard PCX100 clamps with the PCX200 (tilter) which are rock solid, and DO allow for much greater positioning. Pearl Icon rack = two thumbs up, and then some. If you have the cash, and a medium or larger kit, and are tired of the limitations and issues that stands can cause, RUN don't walk to buy one.

well well, ive put this rack on hold, a few weeks ago, and today i finally picked it up. i was extremely surprised at how light this thing is, and how it all comes apart into 7 bars that you can fit in any size car, or hardware bag. i came home and set it up, in the computer room, my mom was pleasantly surprised that her head wont be hitting cymbal stands every time she slides back on the chair now. overall, great rack, 3 shows coming up, and i shall take it to all with me. go pearlsoon ill be owning every product they make.peacee
