The traditional tone you crave and the durability you need!

Constructed of hand-layered fiberglass, this Pearl djembe is designed for years of professional use in all climates. Shell dimensions are unique so that the narrow throat and deep bowl enhance bass tones. Contour crowns have extended collars to improve resonance while the rounded edges improve playing comfort. Exclusive self-centering lug nuts keep tension hooks centrally aligned for improved tension.

The bongo-style bottom ring allows for extremely high tension without the fear of cracking unlike cast bottom rings. The polished steel hardware is distinctive and functional. The rubber base ring protects the bottom of the djembe's shell and eliminates "buzz" caused by metal rings. 14" Goat skin heads are super thin for sizzling slaps and deep bass. The carrying strap and strap-mount are perfect for use at hand drum circles or the beach. Exclusive super high gloss finishes.

Great Sound and Value

I have been using one for many years, and I think it is the best sounding djembe out there...great slap, huge low-end and beautiful tone. I have used broomsticks on it as well. Heads can be hard to find (not always in stock)with some suppliers, but overall, this is a GREAT drum!

Better than you'd expect

Comments about Pearl Elite Fiberglass Djembe:

I was VERY impressed when I found it in a local drum store. They had moutain rhythm and sageman djembes there but I was actually suprised by this one. The convenience is what got me. It's easier to take care of than a wooden one and it had a suprsingly rich sound. Good high end and with a nie goatskin head you get wonderfully resonant bass tones. It is everything a djembe needs to ne, and the metal rim doe not interfere at all, the tuning being that much easier is also fantastic.
