I bought a Forum set with a 20 inch bass, 10,12 & 14 toms. I changed the heads to Evan's hydraulic and find these drums to be loud, with a lot of punch, without ringing overtones. This smaller sete is meets all the requirements no matter if I play in a small club, or large open stage.
I play A Forum in a Church, a fairly large church, and is horrible for live. The bass drum isn't low enough, and the bearing edges messed up on me.Putting Even Hydraulics would be your best bet on them. I recommend for personal use only, not live.
These supprised me for being Pearl, cause i have heard a lot of people complaining about the skins. Well, they arnt half bad, but i replaced the snare and got a set of Sabian B8's and they are honestly the best set i have used!i Have tried Yamaha, and also i have a set of pearl rhylum travelers, which isnt the best set but a good starter, and really, this FORUM set i have is really awesome.
This drumset sounds great and its pretty cheap Very VERY good starter set. I have had this set for awhile now and one thing I can say about it is that the stock pearl protone skins are horrible sounding and hard to tune, so I replaced them all with evans skins. After adding better skins to my set I thought it was a new drum set.if you buy this set look into buying new skins it will make a HUGE diffrence.
We have a set at our church that I play and I would have to say as far as sound quality is concerned these drums excel. They are also a good set for a seasoned pro that doesnt play too hard.
This is the first set I had when I started playing at the age of 7, I have played it until about 6 months ago when i bought a new set and I am now 17 almost 18. The kit last forever and had a great sound and feel. I would highly recommend this for a beginner or a seasoned player who doesn't need a big set, overall one of the greatest sets I've played.
