OVERVIEW

For immediate drumming gratification!

Among the best quality entry-level drum sets in the world, the Pearl Forum Fusion 5-Piece Drum Set with Hardware is one of the best values too. Besides the drums and hardware, it comes with the stuff you normally have to buy separately: cymbals, throne, drumsticks, and even a set-up video. All-poplar shells are made with the same heat compression shell molding process as the pro line.

Forum features shells made in the same molds and using the same Heat Compression Shell Molding Process as Pearl's professional series drums. All Forum shells feature Pearl's exclusive scarf joint (gapless seam) construction for uniform shell vibration, unimpeded by air pockets, for warmth and richness usually found only in more expensive drums. The 5-1/2" x 14" snare drum features a 100% poplar shell for unparalleled sonic performance in its class. Includes low-mass lugs for optimum tonality and resonance, and low-mass tom mounting brackets for optimal sound. Heavy-duty SP-70 spurs give stability and key style tension rods allow precise tuning of bass drum. The 2-section B-70W boom stand folds compactly for transport and the direct pull action on H-72W hi-hat stand assures super quick and smooth action.

The Forum hardware pack includes the S-70W snare stand, B-70W boom stand, and H-72W hi-hat stand, all with sturdy double-braced legs. The H-72W hi-hat features an Eliminator-style footboard, UltraGrip wingnuts/wingbolts, and outstanding Pearl quality. The included chain drive P-120 pedal, with Eliminator-style footboard, spring hook, SP-31F spring with felt and nylon cam roller, spring tension rubber washer, allows the player to set the beater to the best angle for speed and power and the heavier DuoBeat beater allows the choice of plastic or felt faces for hard or soft attack. The bonus D-70W throne features double braced legs and infinitely adjustable height settings with stop-lock memory.

The cymbal pack includes a pair of great-sounding 14" hi-hat cymbals and versatile 18" crash/ride. A pair of genuine Vic Firth 5A drumsticks are included as is a set-up and instructional video featuring Eric Singer.

FEATURES
  • 22" x 18" bass

I really like this set, I've had it for a couple of months, and I really like it. The snare is a little pingy, but some people like that, and its not too bad. I love the toms, their probobly my favorite part about the set. I put some aquarian performance 2s on em and I tuned em really low, they sound great. The kick at first I thought was a little on the weak side, but I checked out a bunch of my friends sets, and it was actully sounden pretty nice compared to them. The cymbals suck. and I mean suck. Even though all sets don't usually come with good cymbals I would reccommend just buying some zildjian zbt's or sabian B8's, just to get you going. But overall I would say its a great set.

My friend in my neighborhood recently purchased this kit, so i offered to go over to his house and tune it up. At first i was thinking wow this thing will probaly sound like junk, but when i saw it the finish was hot and it looked quite appealing. I sat down and tuned up the drums in a few diffrent fashions to see what the drums wanted to be tuned like. I found that if you crank them up at a higher pitch they will really sing. The bass was moderate for it's size, but like a lot of other stock set snares, you guessed it-Sounds like its made out of drift wood from the ocean-. Dont worry, just get evans and you will be AOK. The hardware is a little scrawny and the pedals are mediocre. Personally i think this drumset is too much for what it is, but if pearl floats your boat... GO for IT!! Have fun.(the real truth is for the money go buy a pacific fxr instead, its in a completly seperate ball park.)

An amazing kit for beginners and pros alike

By Windbreaker

from Boise, ID

I've owned this set for about 1.5 years, and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with it. The hardware is great, and the drums themselves have a wide tuning range, and can really sing out. I slapped some Evans EC2 heads on just yesterday, and tuning was extremely easy. The only thing I would replace is the cymbals. They're less than pleasing for the experienced drummer but, I believe they are perfect for a beginning drummer. Just buy an extra crash cymbal and you're all set. If you are a pro looking for a cheap and great set, or are just a beginner, I highly recommend this set!

This drum set is the best I have ever had in 20 years of me professionally playing. The hard ware is great! The heads that come on it make a deep and warm sound. It's like nothing youv'e ever heard! Oh my god! Everyone should have this drum set! It is so nice! Even the exclusive Pearl hi-hats and ride/crash sound amazing! This is the best drum set I have ever had.

I've had this set for 3 years and it has lasted me great! Alot of areas for expansion, reliable heads, and very customizeable. Great sound too. Only down side is the cymbals that come with it are horrible, but fixing that is very easy, all you have to do is buy a nice cymbal pack.

Set is great beginner novice set. Heads and cymbals that come with it blow. But make the set your own and it works great. its been good to me.

I have had this set for about 5 months now and it has been pretty good to me. The cymbals are the most worthless piece of tin can around but oh well. Also the heads wont last till you are old enough to need a walker but they are fine for the first coupple weeks.

Great Kit For The Money!

By TMan44

from Waterville, NY

I use the kit to play out. I changed the heads, the Pearl heads were just not cutting it. I also us my own Sabian Cymbals. The Pearl Cymbals are great for my practice kit. I am pleased at the sound of the toms, since they are smaller then my pervious kit. The Kick drum thunders. Over all very pleased. The free Gag Bags are also a nice touch.

Great Set

By RandizSnare44

This set has been great for me to practice on and to add to. I've added cymbals and toms and it still sounds great. I use it for shows and just to practice with and it's held up good except for one drum head.
