I decided to buy this drum after reading the MANY positive comments about it.I even went looking 4 bad comments about it and there's not a single bad comment 4 it.I didn't know if i'd like it being a 13",but i was surprised.I play it with a Remo Black Suede Emperor batter head and it sounds AM-AZ-ING!! get yours NOW!!!!!!
I went to guiar center a couple days ago,and there is no difference between this and the old jj snare.plus the old one looks a lot cooler on your kit
I have been playing for over 25 yrs and currently play in a hard rock cover band that plays clubs monthly.i play a 1981 mint yamaha birch kit that the drums are tuned to a deeper sound than standard (like a d tuning on guitar) and the yamaha snare is nice but i bought the original (all black) jordison snare and set it up, WOW what a difference. The sound as others stated is amazing it has a a sound uncomparable to any other snare i found on the market, have had it for a few years and love it which the new one is the same design just different looks. For anyone who is not good at tuning or is just learning i change my snare head for every show or every other show and each lug on beater side of snare is set at 20 turns from 1st thread i turn them all to 10 turns to start em then go to about 16-17(where it gets taunt) then in about an hour (or use it a lil) finish the last couple turns tightening diagonals. If its real tight at 19 turns i use it and in about a week or so i do one more turn. The compliments i get regularly at shows are how amazing and loud my snare sounds! A++
One of the best out there
well i DONT like pearl and i DONT like slipknot in the least but this snare i just cant say enough about it, i hate the fact that its pearl because i cant say how much i detest pearl but that's another story this snare is amazing versatile great for anything but really good for rock and metal, this snares is just all around awesomeness in a can just not the company...or the signature that's on it
this snare is probably the best snare you can get for the price, the sound is beautiful and universal, doesnt matter what you play
This snare is everything I was looking for. Tight, focused, articulate, with just the right amount of musical ring. It's inspiring to play and better than my ability to use it. Wicked cool looks and superb quality are just the opening act with this thing. Even if you don't play it you can put it on display as pop art. REALLY
