Very sturdy and built quality! The picture doesnt do it justice! Very easy to set up if you have had double pedals before. If not it comes with good instructions. The best part for me was the longboard style pedals and the fact that you can change the angle of the beaters just by using the included drum key! Super simple and very effective! By far the best double pedal ive ever owned!

I got these pedals along with a Simmons SD1000 e-kit. They were very good up until I started getting faster. In order for them to keep up, I need to tighten the springs, and they are now maxed. With every single chain driven pedal, you eventually start to get pop up slack in the chain, slowing you down. I've played DW5002 double chain drive pedals, and they are the bomb! Save your money, don't pay much attention to these if you're looking to play some fast metal or something with fast kicks, save it. These although are really good for anything else.

Comments about Pearl P932 Chain Drive Double Pedal:

Got this pedal a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love. Pearl calls this an entry level pedal, but the only thing entry level about it is the price. I put it together and adjusted the beater angle to my liking and started playing patterns I have been struggling with for a while with my old pedal (ok, that old one was 'old'). First thing I noticed was how smooth and responsive this pedal is and the slave is equally as fast and responsive as the main pedal. The longboard design makes it ideal for heel/toe playing and it is responsive and smooth enough for using the floating foot method. I mounted the pedal and played for a few weeks without any adjustments other than beater angle. I since did adjust the spring tension tighter slightly for the feel. I had been playing on a friend's Cobra jr which was notably better than my own pedal, now I chose my own pedal over his any day.
So far, the only negatives I can say about it is that I have an older kit with metal hoops and the pedal doesn't fasten securely to it. However I got a Pearl wood hoop protector and it solved that problem. The other thing is that it mounts too closely to the drum head for me to use the adjustable cam insert. Again, I suspect, because of the medal hoop.
If you're on a budget, and who isn't these days, IMHO you won't beat this pedal with one from any other maker at twice the price.
Buy it and your feet will thank you for it.

Comments about Pearl P932 Chain Drive Double Pedal:

I had been playing an Iron cobra for years and got used to all the finicky adjustable parts that change the balance and speed and sort of got used to it. But after playing 16 bars with this pedal I could feel the natural balance I had always dreamed of in a pedal. The light weight pedals, driveshaft, and cam adjusters add so much to the responsiveness you just barely put your foot and the beater accelerates to the head like a corvette out of the gate at a racetrack. ALSO I had always wanted to play my hi hat and double pedal at the same time using a hi hat dance, but my Iron cobra did not have the dimensions to allow me to do this, and now I can play my hi hat on the up beat, while swinging my foot over to touch the pedal to get a little bu-du-du-du-psh-kat. (if you speak drummer you know whats up). One thing I would like to say is if you buy this pedal you will likely want to change your pedal technique, because this pedal was meant to be fast, not necessarily powerful. I play this pedal by throwing the beater foward and catching on its back swing so I can let the bass drum resonate, and this helps keep your foot ready to play a note without having to bring the beater back, as well as keep the chain and springs healthy. I will be working on this more and more with all my types of playing because I had so much trouble controlling the Iron Cobra, now, playing with this, I feel like i understand the physics and mechanics behind a bass drum pedal so much more. Thank You Pearl!!! you made a great Pedal

These pedals were definitely a treat. Having used old cheap pedals in the past these were in my financial ballpark and had great reviews and have since lived up to those reviews. Wonderful Pedals with ease of use and also help increase speed and control.

Comments about Pearl P932 Chain Drive Double Pedal:

I've been a musician for 24 years and been in a million shows and a few small tours. Being left handed, finding a good double bass pedal is a pain to begin with. When I was in the market for another after having played single for years I was so pleasantly surprised with this unit. VERY well constructed, light, and ridiculously easy to adjust with just a drum key. There is no lag or latency with the slave pedal...zero. Very easy to pick up speed and play fast without tiring yourself out. I haven't experience that with pedals costing over double this price. The beaters are really nice to be factory-especially on the plastic side. Overall, if it were stolen I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. Gig after gig, night after night, from show to show and practice to practice these preform consistently well. Well done Pearl.

These pedals are awesome quality. My double bass skills increased at least 25% just by upgrading to these pedals. They are so easy to roll on and there is no difference in response from left pedal to right pedal.

Comments about Pearl P932 Chain Drive Double Pedal:

My band started writing double bass riffs. So having double pedal was essential. My Iron Cobra was broke from having more than 10 years. Pearl just seem to be the kind of pedal I should buy. Iron Cobras are better made now. They just seem to heavy. DW's are over rated. I had one and the spring broke in one year. I love Pearl!

Amazing quality and durability for the cost. I have used more expensive pedals in the past that were constructed with lesser quality and did not function with the ease and speed of this pedal. Believe me, if you are in doubt (like I was) don't be. It really is worth the money...
