The shells are excellent. The heads are very poor. The kick trigger is not professional. I've studied the "Tour Elite" for about 5 months. The Zenbals are an improvement, but are very poor. The Zenbals are under weighted, not heavy duty and tend to miss trigger almost every time they are struck. Again, the shells are great, but the wiring is overrated, and the molded screw lock needs to be tightened periodically. The RCA jacks are very cheap and can be made at home. Overall I have learned, that you get what you pay for. Thank you for this opportunity.
We use this set for worship music and we fell in love with it. The toms are great, although we do use d-drum triggers for extra sensativity. We prefer the pintech set because of the heavy construction of the shells, very "drum like," and the kick pad feels very realistic with our Pearl kick pedal. We upgraded to a very heavy professinal hart dynamics ride and hi-hats (cannot think of the model number off hand.) I will upgrade the crashes someday, but for now I wouldn't trade this set for anything. We love it!
Very durable material. High quality, good looking. Only minor complaint is cymbal triggering occasionally fails if not hit just right.
I think for a little more money they should replace the Zenbal cymbals with Roland. That's what I did. The heads are a little weak and need constant re-tuning. But you can only tighten them just so much because eventually it gets hard to plug them in. I think an upgrade on the heads and switching to Roland cymbals would be a big improvement. They are road worthy though having played them hard for the last year. For the price they're a good deal.
