I bought this because I thought I could make it work on top of a mic stand with my Alesis DM-16 drum machine. Even though the DM-16 doesn't have screw holes in the bottom, I figured a bit of velcro tape would make this usable.
However, I was disappointed when I realized that this is not designed to fit onto a mic stand. The bottom has a cap that can pop off and fit (loosely) over the top of a Mic stand. Some gaffe tape around the mic stand helped make it secure, but it doesn't have as much of an angle as I wanted (it would work fine to see the drum machine from a standing position.
There's not much of a description on this item, which is probably the real reason I was disapointed. To be clear:
- The bottom is made to be clamped to something
- There is not much (if any) of a pitch to the platform.
This may work for you, just wasn't the right item for me.
