replace your old snare! buy now!

Comments about Pork Pie Cherry Pie Cherry/Bubinga Snare Drum:

After a long debate of which drums should I buy, I finally decided to get this pork pie cherry/bubinga snare. Cherry and bubinga wood has a very unique flavor. I am the type of drummer who wants the best in every piece of my drums. I do not buy anything that has something in it that I do not like. This drum has every quality that I like for a snare drum. I call this drum "hybrid". It can be used in any type of music style. If you tune this drum mid high, it would produce whip sound(good recording). and if you tune it high high, you will get soft crisp defined sound, if you tune it low low, you will get a fat sound that will punch your chest (good for live)... this drum is very easy to tune. just one and half turn and you can switch to another style.. buy now! pork pie best!

Comments about Pork Pie Cherry Pie Cherry/Bubinga Snare Drum:

I do not consider myself a professional musician though I've been payed to play sense I was 12 years of age. I do however know equipment. This particular snare is a very GOOD drum thus far. Aside from having to change the stock head , which is normal , the ONLY thing , and this is just a personal thing, I don't care for are the nylon lug washers. Other then that , it's a well built drum with lots of tonal qualities and I found it easy to get it tuned up to my Liking. Used an Evans G2 to take some of the ring out and have tried a bunch of different tunings , so far , seems to be a very well built/sounding drum. Would be great for people who want a new replacement for a stock combo snare as their first add on or upgrade.

Comments about Pork Pie Cherry Pie Cherry/Bubinga Snare Drum:

This drum has a very "woody" sound with great response/sensitivity considering the 7" depth. I'm not sure how much the outer cherry layer affects the sound, but the bubinga gives it a deep, solid presence. I have it tuned medium-high and it sounds big and cuts through the mix very well. The craftsmanship is top-notch as you'd expect from Pork Pie, and the amber stain over the cherry is gorgeous to look at.

Comments about Pork Pie Cherry Pie Cherry/Bubinga Snare Drum:

I bought a Pork Pie Rosewood Zebra Maple Snare Drum a while back and really liked it. When MF had their Memorial Day sale, I thought, why not try another Pork Pie snare, so I picked up the Cherry Pie. The first thing that you'll notice about this drum is the incredible finish. I own about 20 snares and this is easily the best looking of the lot. However, looks aren't everything, so I am very happy to report that this drum sounds fantastic. I'm using a medium tuning on it (86 on the drum dial) and it's super fat. Last week I played this drum in both my Blues Band and my classic rock / jam band and it sounded great in both. Even at the regular price this is a very good deal. I would recommend to anyone playing rock or blues.

Excellent snare!!! I like it better when I tune it low. Tuned high sounds great too but I like the fat sound it provides when tuned low.
