I have been using Promark sticks for many years and have always liked the quality. The first thing I do when I get sticks is roll them to make sure they are staight. Lately I have been dissapointed in the quality. I hope in the future they are checked before shipped!
This is the second time in a row that I ordered 3 pair of these sticks, and 2 of the 6 sticks wobbled when rolled! I think when you're paying this kind of money for a pair of drumsticks, they should be rolled and checked BEFORE they are shipped!

not worth it,
Nothing special, not what I thought I was getting. They are just normal sticks.
The tips break off and are flat withing the first hour of using them. I liked them (808 wood tip) for the first few minutes and they had a great feel and sound, but the tip was flattened or cracked or chipped within the first hour for 8 pairs straight (I bought a box of 12 or I wouldn't have even bought a second) Pro-mark sticks honnestly are not what they are talked up to be. Go buy some Vic Firth's, where one pair could last 150 hours drumming.
For the price you could get much better aka Vic Firth AS5A's which are slightly thinner and slightly rounder tip, but one pair has lasted me as long as 8 of these and still going.

Comments about Pro-Mark American Hickory Drumsticks:
I've played bass for over 40 years in bands, and have always goofed around with drums. I bought a set of 70's Gretsch from my drummer (it was his "practice" set)and actually started to improve. Recently, a band needed a drummer and I started playing with them. After buying and trying different sizes of sticks, I settled on a pair of 5As...BIG MISTAKE! Although the gig was only 2 hrs, those little sticks wore me out! Great for practice, but too light for playing a job. I tried my 5Bs, and think that's the size I should have gone with. The extra weight makes playing easier because I don't have to hit so hard (trying to cut thru the guitar, bass, and vocals. We'll see soon enough, as I have another gig this weekend (3 hrs), but so far, so good.

Comments about Pro-Mark American Hickory Drumsticks:
I have been using this stick for many years now. There have been a few cases where the sticks are not straight- I give them the "roll test"- but overall, they are a good buy. In my experience, they tend to hold up better than sticks from other manufacturers, and oddly enough, don't break as easy as the Promark white oak sticks.

I love the Pro-Mark 5B drum sticks with wood tips! I've been using these for a while now, and prefer them by far. The weight of these is perfect. Not too light and not too heavy. A nicely balanced stick that can be used for all kinds of playing. I use wood tips which I would recommend because it gives you better sound and feel on your cymbals and skins.
Highly recommended!

Comments about Pro-Mark American Hickory Drumsticks:
These are definatly my favorite sticks. they are great and strong but also light weight but not too light weight. i would personally not choose any other stick to use and they are very cost efficient. i use the 7a nylon and wood. i like the 7a cause it gives me the freedom of all the speed i need.
Comments about Pro-Mark American Hickory Drumsticks:
These sticks are great. I always get the 5B Nylon Tips. I've tried other brands like Vic Firth and Vater but I always seem to go back to these. They have the perfect weight and feel for me. I highly recommend these sticks!
