Pro-Mark

When regular sticks are too loud and brushes are too soft, Hot Rods are just right.

Use Pro-Mark Hot Rod drumsticks to create fresh new dimensions of sound. Hot Rod sticks are a Pro-Mark original handmade in the USA of select birch dowels. Hot Rod sticks have a lively, natural rebound. Hot Rods were developed for drummers who want a lighter sound than regular sticks, but with more attack than brushes. In recent years, Pro-Mark Hot Rods have become increasingly popular all over the world in all styles of music.

These are great to use if you play in low to medium volume gigs and they really do give everything a nice sound. I like them because I can really get a large dynamic of volume with them pretty easily. I noticed a few folks complain about the rods breaking or being chipped or not sounding good on your snare. Do this - about and inch down from the top of the stick, wrap about and inch wide peice of duct take around 2-3 times, make sure its a tight wrap. This really extends the life of them and allows you to get more crack out of your snare and little more precision out of your symbals.

I recently got these Hot Rods. They work great! The only problem were     when i got them one of the dowels were cracked so carefully inspect them     before using them. If they are broken call Musician's Friend and they     will send you a new pair absolutely free and you keep the cracked ones     also.
