Lots of great things to say here. Besides being very well balanced, consistent, and great in the hands, they are also the most durable and natural feeling sticks on the market.
When I go to the store I find myself comparing sticks from different brands to find the pair(s) I like. Not so much with Pro Mark as they are very consistent from pair to pair. A set can last me up to 6 months or more.
The essence of oak is very dense. Your rides will clang with authority and your crashes will ring for days. They are loud sticks. However you can still get delicate response for snare rolls and soft passages. It's how you use your hands.
I only have one reservation : and I must throw a CAUTION flag out - be very careful with practicing often with these sticks. After some medical attention, partly due to the dense nature of these sticks, I have developed SEVERE Carpal and Ulnar tunnel in both hands/wrists. It is due to the shock being more severe with such a dense wood. Had I been using hickory (a much lighter wood), the shock would not have been as extreme. Now I must take Ibuprofen before and after shows, and ice my arms so they do not flare up. I wear wrist braces at night. This is not purely the sticks' fault. I would practice for 3 hours or more without a break and without proper warm-ups. I sliced up my ligaments pretty bad and caused some real agitation on my nerves.
If you plan to play a lot with these, save them for the gig. Use hickory or budget-friendly 2nds to practice with. As long as they roll on a table, they'll be fine.
I now use Zildjian Anti-vibes for my CTS. It's all I can use at this point, with the occasional light hickory 5A with electrical tape wrapped around it (for shock absorption).
If I could do it all over again I'd practice with hickory but I'd use Shira Kashi all day long if my arms weren't in such bad shape. They are great sticks but unfortunately for me the oak is too dense for my arms to handle. I do use proper stick technique. They will tear you up!
Fantastic sticks - but save them for the gig.

I have been drumming for 10 years, I've used tons of Sticks. My favorite brand is ProMark, hands down. I've used 727 and 747,rock and super rock. And I love the feeling they have in my hand. The type of music I play is Indie Folk, and you wouldnt think that I need sticks all the time. But I have to buy 2 pairs of sticks each week. And these are the only sticks I buy. So if you play hard like me get a bigger size, I havent tried 5A or 5B yet, but thats what Im going to swing for next time.
Again, great weight, sound great, can take a beating, but depending on your play get the size you need.

Very durable stick. I use 5a and they've held up the best for me compared to hickory. A little heavier but not a deal breaker. Recommended for heavy hitters like myself.

I've been using Promark oak for many years. The last 4 sets have broken on the very first gig. I am not a heavy hitter. Some of my old 707Ns are 10 years old. Recent quality is awful.

If I had tons of money to spend on drum sticks I would have no problem buying these Pro Mark Oaks (or any pro mark for that matter). These sticks seem to last forever and I can get up to 6 months out of a pair without replacing them. They almost never snap, they just fray away until the stick splits down the middle. I would say within that period I probably have gotten 30+ hours use out of them. Not bad... but I am not made of money, so I buy the cheaper sticks in bulk from here and use grip tape. 10 pairs of sticks for the price of 2 really lasts me a lot longer and although they aren't as nice, they are more economical for me.
If Pro Mark ever goes on a blow out sale, count me in. These sticks rock.

For anyone who keeps breaking sticks no matter how much they adjust their style, you have to get these sticks. They last three times longer, have a little more weight so your stroke hits harder, and only weigh slightly more than their hickory counterpart.

These stick are freaking awesome!! I have gone through some pair of sticks but these by far have lasted me the longest! They are the perfect length for my setup; great weight for a light and swift motion but with a good punch. Always my first choice!!

This stick is the right stick size for my hand,sound and reach.I'm a pro drum instructor and I've learned a lot about hand and wrist injuries. More often than not,the student is using the wrong ''diameter'' of stick. Almost always to small. Plus they tend to grip the stick much to hard.This will slowly cause hand and wrist injuries. As my instructors back in the day told me when playing. ''Almost all of Drumming happens in the air. Striking the drum is the end of drumming, not the begining'' I hope this help. Happy drumming1
