Having been drumming for 35 years, I have tried many types of drumsticks, many manufacturers. When looking for a good pair of drumsticks, you want stix that are balanced well number one. If your practicing rudiments, switch sticks every once in a while you will see what I mean. Not to say Promark are the only balanced stix out there, but defintely to say they are superbly balanced, I notice immediately Im not fighting the weight of the drumstick it is working with me, giving my chops an effortless articulation and range of motion. Recently I was amazed when I tried out some hickory 7a's as well some other 5a and 5b all from other manufacturers with my PM 747's. even the "lighter" drum sticks felt heavier because of way they are balanced (or not balanced well). In todays drumming BPM is big deal... well, if you want to max out your your BPM in rolls etc, you need a stick that flows and bounces with the stroke, not one you wrestle.Next, durability... you always hear about breaking stix. I think for the most part you will grow out of that :-)... while some players are forced pound extra hard because of noisy guitar players, if your in the studio, or mic'd on stage you dont have to sacrifice the control of motion and sound dynamics and splinter stix. If you do, well then theres metal drumstix now for you. But when going q to q promark hickory is as nice as any other hickory stick out there. Its that simple. Wood will break on metal if you hit just right ;-)... it also wont break on metal if you hit just right.After about 6 months my promarks (I use 747's)look fuzzy...lots of shredding and splintering off the shaft, but I rarely, like one in the last 3 years, snap a shaft.So there you have it... I hope. A good qualiity stick, extremely well balanced, with high q selection of wood that is consistent pair to pair. Maybe other great sticks out there too, but promarks are defintely one of the best.

These sticks are pretty good, but I would break a pair just about every week. I was using 2B sticks too! These are good for light hitters, but if you're a heavy hitter like me, get some Ahead sticks. They are way better for us metal heads. :)

I got the 747 nylons a while back and i finally broke them after what seemed like forever playing them! These to me are by far the best sticks ever because not only are they lightweight but they're extremely durable! These sticks beat out all the other brands i used in the past. I used a pair of vic firth drum stick for my birthday and started using them when these broke and not even a month later the stick broke and hit me right in the face while playing! Well anyways i went out to my nearest music shop and brought me a pair of pro-mark natural drum sticks in my favorite size (747N) and couldn't be more happier! if your a drummer looking for some new sticks BUY THESE TODAY!!!

I have been using Pro Mark for years now. I'm a pretty heavy hitter and I rarely, if ever, break them. I just wear them out. Unlike Vic's. I broke those consistantly anytime I tried them. I prefer the Pro Mark Natural Hickory mainly because I play with gloves. They don't have any clear coating on them and they grip much better. No slipping or losing sticks while playing. You can't go wrong with these. In any size.

Promark makes the best drumsticks in the world. Which is why i endorse them. I just pay full price.
I use the 2b wood tips. The un-finnished wood make a grippy texture in your hand. Almost a little rough. I like the roughness.
The 2b model lasts me for a long time. 1 to 2 weeks. I also play very hard. Rimshots all the time.

I have been using Vater 5A nylon tips for about 3 years now. They are cheap and last a long time. I was checking out random sticks at a local shop and came across these. What drew me to them was the thick neck it had - practicly no taper. I bought a pair to use at a gig that night. Love them! They held up to 4 straight hours of drinking and bashing drums/cymbals. They are looking pretty worn now but I guess that's because the finish is different than Vater's. And since it was a new stick (to me) I have some serious bleeding blisters on my thumb and pinky. Once the skin regrows, I'm going to try to get my hands use to the 747's!

These sticks are amazing. Especially for anyone who drops sticks often. The slightly rough surface gives a grip that I could only get when I used grip tape or gloves. But no more. Now its 100% hand-stick grip. I highly recommend these to anyone.

I love these sticks.The best feel you will ever get out of a stick.No lacquer to blister and callus your hands.The natural finish gives it a predictable wear.No shattering.Slowly chips away and its easy to tell when its time for a new pair.They are very solid feeling and have more weight than the average stick.I have tried every brand,every size.These are the best sticks in the world,and thats a promise.Enough said.

These were the second pair of drum sticks I bought at a music store in Green Bay and once i put them in my hands they felt extremely comfortable. They had the thin diameter I was looking for, easy to twirl, could toss them around as much as I wanted, very fast for playing, and I hope to be endoresed with Pro Mark 747 sticks. PRO-MARK 4 LIFE!

Ive tried just about every brand before pro mark, and I was fine with them..but pro mark just felt better to me..the balance is perfect, makes it really easy to change it up on the cymbal and easy to play fast..also the tips on these things are great!
