I am very disappointed in this air elite case. I previously owned a set of XL hard cases and loved them. This case is not sized properly; the lid does not come down far enough to grip the rim of the bass drum. So, the "air" function is only good for one side of the drum. The lid is too loose, too; the single strap does not hold it in place, and one side bulges out more than the other. The walls of the case are very flexy. The case should be reinforced better. I would have bought an SKB to match my trap case, but the only 14 x 18 case is for a marching bass drum, and I am not sure that it would accommodate spurs, etc. Blah!

I purchased a set of these (24x16, 16x16, 13x9 & 14x7) about four months ago after dropping a pretty penny on a Trick kit. I must admit I was somewhat disappointed in these cases and almost regret not just purchasing some more Beato Pro 1 bags.My biggest gripe: Protechtor claims the drums should rest in the middle, supported by several small pads mounted on the top and bottom of the case eliminating the need for foam. Here's the reality of it (at least for me): With the exception of my floor tom, my drums bang around so much that i actually think they'd be safer without any cases at all. The worst of the bunch is my kick drum. Not only does the drum bang around in the case,it flexes and bends every time i move it around. it's actually starting to warp. Another complaint:The rounded "feet" on these cases really make them really awkward to load in the back of a packed van. It also creates a lot of wasted space. For the time being, I'll continue to use these cases but I'll more than likely be trading them in for something actually worth the money.

I got the 24x18 bass drum case, and boy was I happy! They are solid, lightweight and really really durable. I was impressed how well these survived the aviation trade nowadays, with just light scuffing from the careless airport machinery and dukes. The wheels also, a FANTASTIC addition, it made lugging it through airports a breeze. The buckle was solid and sturdy. Feels like quality.The best part is they are really nicely over sized to accommodate for DIY padding if you choose to install it later. The bass drum fit snugly, but you need to remove all the tension rods and bass clamps to fit it in without risking messing up the felt on the top and bottom lid when it's in. Overall, I'm very, very happy with this purchase and recommend it 100%
