Pulse 4-Piece Junior Drum Set with Cymbals  

We bought this kit for my son who is 5.  He's insanely gifted, so I wanted to get him something that would be like playing a real kit.  I was very impressed with the quality of the kit.  Most of the hardware is great as well.

These drums sound great, and are built to last.  I do want to buy better heads for them at some point, but I've never seen a kit that came with nice heads at the initial purchase.

When my son plays these drums, it sounds like somebody is playing a real drum set, not a kids set.  I even enjoy playing around with them when my knees can handle the squatting position required to use a 5 year old's drum set.

I would rate the quality of these drums high with the exception of the kick pedal and hh pedal.  The kick pedal came with the chain too long, and I had to shorten it to  keep the pedal from bottoming out and clicking before the hammer hit's  the drum.  There is also a nut and screw system for holding the kick  pedal together that I was lucky enough to figure out since the kit  doesn't come with assembly instructions.

You can't beat the quality for that price!!!

This kit looks great, has great hardware (with the acception of the pedals) and sounds amazing.  I would reccomend this kit to anyone who has a small child that shows signs of being musically gifted.  It isn't even in the same category as the little sets that you get at the toy store.

Bought this kit last Christmas in a five piece version for my grandson, and it is the best money I have ever spent musically. The kit, if used for young kids is good right out of the box but I upgraded the heads to meet the sound I liked, he could have cared less. Over all this little outfit is perfect for the budding drummer. It has taken every bit of punishment a 3yr. old can dish out. These were not played and then packed away this little fellow thrashes them every day, so if you have a young drummer on your list this year buy these and feel safe in knowing you will get good service from these drums. Musicians Friend was great to work with and got these here in plenty of time for Santa to deliver..

Can't beat it for the money

Great for the very young, don't buy these expecting an adult to play them. You could but you would need a hardware upgrade, and an upgrade on the heads whhich I would suggest anyway.
