I have used this bongo set for a motley amount of styles from Weather Report's "Birdland" to the obvoius Santana song "Jingo". This bongo is economical and have seen ludicriously low prices in this site. The tonal quality is pretty good too. I would definetley recomend this for beginers.
Intead of buying the Pulse B-2 Tunable 2-Tone Bongos, I recommend you go to the toy store instead. You'll likely get a better quality set of bongos. These came loosely assembled and they felt as if they were going to fall apart as soon as I took them out of the box. The heads are paper thin and the set sounds like brown bags taped over milk cartons. Save yourself the trouble of the return process!
For this price you've got to get some. Great way to try the hand drum thing and see if you can get into it without spending much. They look great and the tone isn't bad. Not much higher than little toy ones they have at Wal-mart.
I play percussion as a hobby in a band with a few of my friends. These bongos served our jam session needs perfectly. I'm not an expert, but to my ears, these bongos sound pretty good, considering the price.
These bongos are not worth the price. They sound really bad, the heads have horrible disfigurations (it looks one of my heads actually broke at one point, and they heated up a pair of pliers to stick it back together), and they are difficult to tune. Pass on the great price - it's a waste of money.
Man, I can get my start in with some rap music, and grooves in general!Ah, at such a SWEET price!I love this son of a gun!I highly recommend this, but if this your first time dealing with bongos, get some rubber mallets or mallets that goes with Native American drums for when you want to tpa the center of the bongis instead of the edges.
i recently started playing bongos and found these to be just what i was looking for, a really good price for decent set of tunable bongos, i can say that i am very happy with theses bongos and would highly recommend them to anyone who is starting out, great to learn on.
I got it for the kids to beat on, about all they would be good for. One side does not really sound good at all.
