We bought this set for our 10 year old son who has no musical experience. We didn't want to pay alot for something that he may not use. This set was a good deal for the little bit of money that you spend. He was able to learn a little bit and decide if he liked it for a small cost. However, this set is not for long term use. The quality overall is good for the price but the cymbal is very flimsy and bends with regular use, the bass pedal is loose and falls apart often even with regular adjustments. The snare stand does not hold the snare properly...it has to be adjusted during use. The quality of the rest of the set is much better. While there are some small disappointments with this set, I think it is well worth the $ tag. Our son has had a chance to decide if he likes playing drums and get in ALOT of hours of practice on these drums. I would say that we have gotten our moneys worth out of them.

First of all let me say that some of these reviews are a complete joke - they should be removed. This set is OK as a beginning set for kids ages 3-7. If you have trouble with finding a throne, look for one labeled as "junior" throne. The lowest it will go will be about 18". There is not a high hat but I would suggest that the reason is: it's very difficult to deal with the "pedaling motion" of a high hat, it would probably also add $$ to the cost because it requires 2 cymbals. To those people that are having problems with heads breaking - you may have overtightened them or more likely tightened them unevenly - the tension on the head has to be the same all the way around. Hit the head but don't all out pound on it.If you find that the cymbal is denting, I would recommend buying a cheap "splash" cymbal for the unit - they can be purchased for around thirty dollars. If the bass drum sounds bad or "ringy" get some foam strips from a hardware store and run it around the edge of the bass drum - first try the pedal side, but you may have to add it to the "front" side too. This is supposed to be a fun kids set - I have compared prices on other sets and this is NOT a bad purcase for the $$. Good Luck!!

This drumset is a great deal. Its cheap and durable, and has lasted me over 4 years of heavy hitting. The drumheads are nice and strong, but do dent after a while. I recommend buying drumsticks and a hi hat, as regrettably, this does not come with either (the drumsticks are 6" long and are crap). This set is for beginners, for sure, but is a nice set to get if you are just starting out and don't want to spend too much too soon.
This kit is ok or an absolute beginner!!! If you have had any experience, this kit stinks. First of all, the heads suck.they break probably your 5th or 6th hit (you hard hitters). Then theres the sticks, There only about 6" long! As opposed to other drum sticks about 11 or 12". And it doesn't even come with a hi-hat!! Overall, save your money for a Tama, or a Pearl.
i bought this drum set thinking it would be good for a kid, i weigh in at 250 lbs and i have pounded this thing so hard and loud my wife wanted to run me out of the house and still it works great awesome sound for a few $ thanks gang your truly the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got this drumkit because i needed it for a concept band, everyone plays kids instruments. You can probably figure out what you get with this kit, it's really really cheap and it has terrible hardware (the drum pedal is the worst ever) the drums are frightfully lightweight and I am quite concerned that I will break it soon, but it is really really cheap, just as long as you know what you're getting
It's a nice drum set, but my then 14 year old brother and I totally messed it up within 2 months when of when we bought it.It's good for people that don't hit too hard.
I am thirty two years old. Ive been playing drums for about fifteen years now, and i must say this drum kit is not for beginners. It is probibly the best drum set ive ever played, and ive jammed with some big name bands. Trust me! You wont find a better deal anywhere else! Pulse i love you keep up the good work!
I thought it looked really stupid when I saw it but ut is a awsome drum set for a beginner who wants a cheap drum set. My friend has a 2.5K dollar drum set and it sucks. Im glad I own this drum set insted of my friends. :)
I own a pdp by dw cx kit with zildjian zbt cymbals, and I'm in a band with my friends. My parents were tired of us practicing at our house, so I figured I would get a cheap kit and keep it at our bassist's house so I wouldn't have to carry around my real kit. I bought 2 of these, pulse cymbals ( 2 crashes, 1 splash, 1 crash/ride, 1 hi-hat, 1 china), and shelled out the second snare. I tuned them all so they sound like 7 seperate toms. Now I'm always going over his house to play it! Of course, you have to buy new sticks (the only flaw). I love this kit!
ya, i am 16 years old, and i think this set is incredible. serously, i trew away my Truth drums just so i can get the brilliant sound quality out of these, they are realy nice to tour with, i have played over 16 shows with these and i would have to say, i am diging the 10" crash. i take them over my Meinls. this set doms, i would recomend it if you are a drummer that is on tour, because its way better than all your equipment combine. Some single mother was wanting to buy her kid one of these and i gave him my Truth instead, because, who needs a $7325.00 drum set when you can get this one!
i got this drum set for my 4yr old nefu and he loves it great size for him and he plays it everyday i eant to say thanks to thank pulse for starting drumers off at age 4 and he kicks butt on it to last a long time sounds great and great for the price i would buy it again!!!!!!!
