Wonderful Single Trigger

By Steven Mundschau

from Yorba Linda, CA

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

I bought 3 of the single triggers as I read on a forum that you could use them to trigger cymbals. I figured I would get these to try out and avoid spending more for actual cymbal pads. I am very satisfied with these triggers on the cymbals.
They are mounted on the cymbal just outside the bell, and under a cymbal pad. Responsiveness to play has been excellent.
If additional drums or cymbals are ever added to my kit, I will buy more of these triggers.

Works great as a kick trigger...

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

super simple. I created a bass drum "pad" with a couple of pieces of wood, then taped the trigger to it and connected my kick pedal to that. from there, i connected a quarter inch cable from the trigger to my spds, and BAM! instant drum set. i also tried it on my acoustic bass drum to see if it worked, and it does work very well, but you have to tweak your kick a little if you use a loose one. this trigger has good sensitivity
it does what it's made to do, nothing more, nothing less.
not sure how long it'll last, but i'd imagine it would last a long time as long as you don't stomp on it.
It is a steal as far as I'm concerned.

Almost perfect

By Viv Savage

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

I'm all about the lowest cost to highest feature style of buying, and that's why I bought these. Work acceptionally well if set correctly on your interface (have crosstalk and gain settings correct so they work right). They work well, acccept on my snare oddly enough. I use mutes on my drums with these for an apatment friendly recording setup and they work well on everything, including muted cymbals, except the snare. Just not responsive enough with a mute. I've purchased a mesh head to see if that'll solve the problem, if not I'm trying another trigger just for the snare.

Red Dots Rock!!

By Marshall-eE-1h

from NW Arkansas, USA

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

For the past two years I have used the "Red Dot" drum trigger on a self designed foot pad to trigger my Alesis D-4. It has stood up over time with countless stomps of bass drum and hihat. A+

Great for acoustic bass

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

I'm using it for my stand up bass. I like it better than my old Underwood at a fraction of the cost! You can mess around with placement, I put mine in the "wing" on the bass side of the bridge and mounted the jack on the tailpiece with a cable tie. If the fit is loose, you can shim it with a washer or such. You can use an Arion effect set clean for a pre amp but you don't really need it, just a decent cord.

This is better than i expected

By The dude-pJK1O

from Polk City, IA

Comments about Pulse Percussion Red Hots DR-1 Drum Trigger:

This product kinda had me wondering if it would actually work... I was fairly sceptical because of its absurdly low price, but when I got some they worked suprizingly well. They do have some downsides however, somtimes they fail to trigger when you are playing fast complex rythms. And even more irritating is that when two toms or somthing are triggered and they are on the same stand, the vibation on the stand from hitting the other trigger will trigger both... not so cool... but if you are looking for somthing cheap that works fairly decently, give these a try.
