To all the people that posted terrible reviews, there is hope yet for your 30 strand snare wire. First read up on snare beds and why they are important, if they aren't cut out deep enough and wide enough (8 inches for 16-20) your snare will be very un-sensitive and will rattle/buzz, plus if you tighten it to get rid of the buzz you'll choke the snare...WHAT I'M GETTING AT IS....I'm almost positive your snare doesn't have a snare bed cut for this wide of a snare wire.. therefore you'll have problems with it.I cut mine wider to use these and they are awesome!

I loved this thing and thought it was worth the price for the first 4 months.. then I started breaking wires. I figured "Hey, I still have 29 what's the big deal" well it started with one then another broke then another.. well I broke probably 6 wires before I got fed up and couldn't get a good sound out of my snare, so I put a stock set of wires that I got on a Pork Pie snare 3 years ago and it sounded fine, not as good as the Super 30 when it still had wires on it, but better than it when it was only 6 months old.
Great product but just doesn't last for what you pay for it. Go for the Gibraltar 42 strand it's half the price and last just as long if not longer (I had one before this)

A couple of reviewers have some good advice and useful tips. I would say get these from a source where you can return or exchange them (if possible) if they don't work on your drum, as they are a bit costly.I just put these on an 8x14 Tama Bubinga Elite snare drum and they work really well on it. There is quite a difference in response from the 20-strand set. They worked well on a 6 1/2x14 Tama brass snare drum also. I will not be putting them on my Pearl Eric Singer snare drum, however. The snare bed is somewhat narrow and deep on that one, apparently designed to maximize the properties of a 20-strand set.As for the 42-strand set, my 5 1/2x14 Tama Starclassic copper snare drum came with one on it (though they come with a 20-strand set now) and it works very nicely on that drum. So I plan to try both the 30-strand and the 42-strand sets on other snare drums to see how they respond.I would also say to try and ascertain if a set would work on your drum before spending the money, if possible.
Comments about Puresound Super 30 Series Snare Wire:
I used these on an OCDP 14x8 snare for recording a few months back. I honestly was unimpressed.I wanted something with more strands to bump up the sensitivity of the deep snare. I had tried out a Gibraltar 42 strand off of my main recording snare a few days before and it sounded amazing. But the GC that supplies were purchased from the day before recording was out of the Gibraltar 42s. I figured these would be just as good if not better. Well, they sounded good and solid and bright, as all Puresounds do, but the increase in sensitivity over the PS Blasters 20 strand that was on the drum to begin with was negligible. I could've saved $30 and stuck with the 20 strand and it would've sounded the same.Next time I'm ordering ahead and sticking with the Gibraltar 42s.

I don't understand why people were giving these snares bad reviews. I love them! Once I bought these and put them on my snare, it made me excited to play drums again. I didn't have a problem with the snares being too tight or too lose, must be user error. The reason why I put the value at a 3 is because they are pricey. I've had them for a year or so and none of the stands have broke, like all cheap snares do. I recommend these to anyone who is willing to fork up the money for quality.
Comments about Puresound Super 30 Series Snare Wire:
I purchased this snare wire about three or four months ago and it is awesome. The articulation of my snare is great. I had a little buzz initially but all I had to do was adjust the snare bed, as mentioned by others, and it sounds great. It is a little on the expensive side but how often do you need to replace these? If you want a great sounding, clean snare, then get this wire.

I hesitated to purchase, when I read other reviews, but I've used PureSound before -- and it's quality merchandise. I put these on an LM400 Ludwig snare (whose stock snares were pretty sparse). I followed the instructions for installation and the sound of my snare drum is now phenomenal. These snare wires changed an OK sounding drum into a great sounding drum.
Comments about Puresound Super 30 Series Snare Wire:
I read the other reviews on these snare wires, and thought 'its just user error'. I was wrong. I tried to install these in every way possible: right-side up, up-side down, tight, loose, and with all different kinds of ties. They wires just won't install flush with the snare head, and there are some problematic wires that seem to rattle more than others. Im returning this and sticking with my cheaper snares...
Comments about Puresound Super 30 Series Snare Wire:
i bought this because my other snare wires broke. when i put this on i was thinking this would definitly be worth money. what i found out was that this is a WORSE snare than the stock one. it either hugged my drum so tight i couldnt hear it or completely hung off the batter. the only time i was able to get any sound out of it, the sound is so minute it sounds like a tom

Well I was a little hesitant to spend the cash for these but am I glad I did.. these make my snare sound like a totally different drum. I combined these snares with the Remo Emperor X coated head wow does my snare pop and is nice & crisp.
