Comments about Regal Tip Classic Brushes:
My husband is a professional drummer for 40 years...and these are the only brushes he'll use!
Comments about Regal Tip Classic Brushes:
Like most drummers, I have a variety of of brushes to choose from, including plastic push-in, wood handle and multi-rod brushes. However, my favorite are the Regal Tip Classic Brushes. The Classic's brush spread is conveniently controlled by two notches in the metal retractor. This feature is useful in playing a variety of sounds over various musical genres. The rubber handle is very confortable using raditional or match grip and give great control when rolling the brush over the drum head.
I find the wires give a great sound whether you tip, tap or sweep them over the heads. The metal loop and rubber ball at the back end provide added textures on the cymbals. The Classics glide easliy over all textures of drum heads, with the exception of clear plastic heads, and didn't dig into my new coated drumheads.
The Classics are fantastic for Jazz, Blues, Latin and playing behind vocalists. Their only down side is volume. If you want to play loudly or push a big band, you would do better with heavier wired brushes like the Regal Tip Jeff Hamilton or Pro-Mark TB4's. But if you want a great pair of all around brushes, you can't go wrong with the Regal Tip Classics.
Comments about Regal Tip Classic Brushes:
These brushes get caught in the sides of the rim of my snare drum very fast. Mine now are very tight and when i try to open them up it feels very hard and tough. These lasted a week. I am gonna go with some promark tb3s or vic firth jazz brushes.
Comments about Regal Tip Classic Brushes:
Great sounding brushes, being retractable you can make the wires last a lot longer. Be careful, because they'll tear through the texture on coated heads faster than you can do paradiddles.
